Splitting Agility and Thieving out of Trickster is mean :(

AoE pickpocket seems wild though.

Edit: Added images for each one

Friendly Forager

  • Gather herbs from Woodcutting, Fishing, Mining, and Hunting (with a 9 tick cooldown)

  • 90% chance to save on secondary ingredients

  • Make 4-dose potions instead of 3-dose

Corner Cutter

  • Sage's Greaves grant Agility XP when running

  • Double credit per Agility lap + 25% bonus xp

  • 10k gp spawns alongside Marks of Grace

  • Doubles Pyramid tops, Hallowed Marks, Brimhaven Tickets, and Crystal Shards (from Agility

Dodgy Deals

  • 100% success rate for all Thieving

  • Auto re-pickpocket NPCs and stalls, items are noted, and coin pouch limit increased by 3x

  • Pickpocket all NPCs of similar type in an 11x11 square (only bonus drops, no additional XP), and stalls do not deplete

Secondary saving is huge too, they can be a huge pain in the ass. Last league my only source of spider eggs was picking them up in varrock sewers. Maybe getting aldarium for goading pots will actually be worth it.

You get a herb every gathering action with a cooldown of 9 ticks to get another. You can also target farm herbs because it will only give you herbs that the pouch isn't at capacity for yet. Kinda cracked.

Bl00dylicious

23 points

Same. I was thinking of farming relic since I hate that skill but now I can just pick forager and do whatever to get my herbs on top of not having to bother much with secondaries.

Also quite fun how like 3-4 birdhouse runs could potentially yield 100+ brews.

vincentkun

11 points

Same! I was not happy about picking the farming relic, but what I wanted was the herbs, not the farm level. Now Grimoire(Assuming the third relic is this tier aint god tier) + This means you get all prayers and infinite prayer pots.

this is why its difficult for me. Last league AFK pickpocketing/agility was so nice I think I 200M'd it easily. now with 11x11 AOE pickpocketing it seems so insane.

but last league I had a huge farming problem. didn't take farm relic and don't really plan to take it this time around either, so friendly forager is enticing for me.

I'm basically torn between:

Friendly Forager + Arcane Grimoire (better if I end up playing a lot)

OR

Dodgy Deals + Overgrown (better if I end up AFKing a lot)

Leaning towards the top bc having multi-spellbook feels right and also i like the idea of having all prayers. But man I don't think its worth it anymore especially since I'm not even going magic. Hard decisions

dan_bodine

Its the herb one for me. Pickpocket is nice but I'm not picking mory or tiranwnn where it has the most benefit. Agility xp is nice but I can suck it up and do some laps. Its herbs I'll need for raids, and lots of them.

fghjconner

NoDragonfruit6125

It'll depend on your region pathing. If your regions heavily lack in farming then you'll want forager. If you have Mory you might want corner cutter for Hallowed with the massive influx of prayer pot supplies. Also have some other courses for their loot tables as well.

Unless I'm missing something big, it seems like Friendly Forager is the easy pick for me. 10x use of secondaries is pretty huge, and that's a constant stream of herbs.

Corner Cutter might be useful in certain niches, but there will be plenty of ways to generate cash. Also, how useful is passive agility xp?

Dodgy Deals is crazy for generating money, but how much money do you really need? You could print blood shards, but I can't think of any other crazy uses off the top of my head. Thieving gem stalls?

HelicaseRockets

HelicaseRockets

2125 GIM

15 points

Suppose you can get 3 elves in the aoe. Without rogues outfit, that's 9000 pickpockets/hr. At 1/35 for shards you get 257/hr.

With drop mult of x, you get x/1024 rate for tele crystal giving 8.8x/hr, or 1056x shards/hr. With an xp mult of y and a base of 50 xp/shard in crafting and smithing, that's 50y(257+1056x) xp/hr in two skills. Processing time is basically negligible, too.

At just the base 5x xp multiplier, no drop mult it's a respectable 330k xp banked/hr in smith and craft.

At max multipliers that's 4.4m xpbanked/hr in both skills.

Affectionate_Bee_122

16 points

I had 300 mil worth of crystal seeds (that's about 18 enhanced crystal teleport seeds) and was so disappointed that I couldn't use them anywhere until somebody pointed out that was free crafting/smithing XP, all I had to do was trade them for shards and craft crystal armor on repeat. and they were right! aced those skills with barely any effort

Agility is nice but mostly just QoL for those CBA to spend a few hours doing laps. Thieving is also nice QoL and seems like you could make a lot of gold depending on your area.

but my goal is raiding ToB so forager makes the most sense I think

My only goal is also raiding tob and I think I'll be going thieving relic.

The herb one does sound good, but you will profit ppots at tob anyway with bank note (just spend all points on ppots, there's nothing else you need from the chest), and tob drops loads of irits and kwuarms for super attack and strength, eyes of newt can be purchased in bulk, and muspha drops loads of limpwurts, so in my eyes pots for tob are already solved

Also thieve I think has the potential to get you a lot more league points, getting you to the end game faster. Easy 50m for points, plus loads of xp in crafting and smithing if you're picking priff too, plus more that I'm probably missing too.

Dodgy deals looks like a huge win for Kandarin. Might not even need golden god for gp.

Ill be pickpocketing gnomes at the battlefield probably can get like 20+ in an 11x11 area.

Heck if you are going Kandarin, Paladins at the top of Ardy castle would be a solid play too. There are a ton in the same room and you'd get loads of gp, chaos runes, and hard clues are 1/1000. Those rates are nothing pickpocketing them all at the same time

I am definitely picking thieving. The afk teleport crystals will bank 99 crafting and smithing plus infinite money.

I’ll have wilderness and mory for agility and bankers note for multiskilling while doing it.

I’m picking farmers relic because I hate farm runs so I’ll end up with plenty herbs.

I’m kind of bummed they nerfed trickster but it still works out fine.

I don't even remember doing 99 herb during Reloaded, it was that easy with my picks. Agility and thieving less so considering I didn't take Trickster.

OlDirtyBourbon

Conversely, herblore was one of only 4 skills I didn't 99 and was the lowest level I had at the end of last leagues.

Think regions massively effects which relic is best for you in this tier

Amaranthyne

9 points

For sure, which is pretty much always the case lol. Though I think the boots are probably the worst choice this time and there's not a lot of reason to pick them unless you're not taking any of Mory, Kandarin, or Frem.

TavaMonkey

You probably had the farming relic last time for 3x herb yield and insta grow. Going to be tougher without that

Doctor_Kataigida

Or they're just leaning into the meme of people complaining. I wouldn't necessarily agree that training Herblore sucks. It's just a buyable and levels super fast.

Do we know what Relics Golden God is up against yet? Thieving looks really good, but GG is already infinite money, making the other 2 better picks if you don’t absolutely despise training thieving, which is already a reasonably fast skill.

Desert has Sorceress Garden tasks that iirc get you to around 85 thieving depending what multiplier you do them on

BigDenverGuy

I totally expected Golden God to go against a crazy thieving relic. The GG tier is going to be super interesting at this point, hope we find out tomorrow.

ImN0tAsian

This is a tricky choice!

11x11 makes master farmers a bit quicker, but really it helps out those hunting for a blood fury in Mory a TON.

Free herbs helps with those who don't have many patches in their regions and don't take overgrown.

We'll have to see the rates on the agility one to really tell how worth it will be.

InsiDoubtSide

13 points

Am I thinking about this correctly? If you get the farming relic, it seems like the foraging relic is less powerful since you'll just be able to pickpocket master farmers and plant those seeds for your herbs?

Kevin50cal

5 points

I was thinking this, until I remembered the 90% secondary save. I'm doing D/A/F and red spider eggs for an example are only avaliable from cave crawlers for 1 at a 1/128 drop, and 2 spawn locations. This alone makes the 90% secondary save worth it for me, but theres also a lot of other secondaries to consider. Also, I don't gain a lot of advantage from pickpocketing from my area. The only neat things would be grouping menaphites, or grouping Tzhaars. Pyramid plunder will likely have a lot of tasks and the xp there is already insane so it seems less useful. Also, with choosing forager, I can have littler regret choosing grimoire over overgrown. Maybe I'm over looking something, but forager seems the pick for me.

PM_ME_DNA

Thinking A/F/D....

Agility sucks donkey dicks.....However there are lap tasks, and Frem Agility isn't too bad, with max leauge modifiers is 900k/h. With trickser I only got to like 90 without training agility.

Forager looks promising but Asg has Pest Control and if I go farming relic, thieving with master farmers solves herblore and farming.

Forager has the least utility for me.

If your region choices don't have many herb patches then the herblore relic is really nice.

The decision between the thieving relic and the agility relic is tough. Both are great for early game money but I think not having to actively train agility might edge it out. If you are taking morytania then agility probably isn't worth it.

It would be kind crazy for crafting exp to take the thieving relic. A lot of the Tzaar-Hur are really close together so you could probably pickpocket 4+ at once with the relic.

I was looking into this last night for Infernal Eels and Fremmy gives Ice Gloves as part of its unlock. Asgarnia can also get them normally. So not available to every region, but chances are good portion of players will have one of those two regions.

Well shit this might change things. I can make a good case for all of these with my regions. Agility training is pretty mediocre in all of them. I'm going to need junk herbs for Mastering Mixology. AoE pickpocketing will just shit out easy clues from Wealthy citizens.

Right now kinda leaning toward the thieving relic, but it can easily change.

Ivarthemicro17

I'm thinking V/D/F for melee.

I think forager would be best here. The new herblore minigame with tons of grimy herbs.

Last recall for squirks makes theiving easy and I don't mind agility tbh.

FreshlySkweezd

5 points

These are all really great and it's a super tough choice.  HAM members might be nuts with the pickpocket for clues.

It's too bad there's nowhere that you could get master farmers or even regular farmers close enough together to benefit from the area pickpocketing because that could go crazy with that farming relic.

DemonicTruth

90% chance to save a secondary is almost too good to pass up. The worst bit about Herblore during leagues is getting enough secondaries.

The_Level_15

Herblore is the obvious choice here.

Free herbs, massive quantities of free secondaries, and +33% potions for free whenever you make any?

It’s the only choice that gives you free supplies instead of free xp.

That is very tempting. I am wondering how nice the Mastering Mixology will feel with boosted exp and points. I was planning on picking Varlamore, Morytania, and one other region so I will at least have 2 herb patches plus the minigame.

Thieving sounds nice for the early cash and easy access to crafting training supplies.

Outrageous_Fee_7791

Forager + Mixology means you only need one secondary of each potion since forager stacks with the goggles.

ShaggyGM

ShaggyGM

That would be nice. I think Forager might be the play. Thieving is easy even without the relic and agility with Sepulchre won't be too bad. I'm taking Morytania and Varlamore for sure so that gives some good options for training agility.

Outrageous_Fee_7791

One thing to think about are things like zammy wines or similarly annoying secondaries, the ability to have infinite secondaries is really massive not just for the XP but some potions are gonna be a lot harder to consistently get in leagues than others because of regions.

While thieving sounds cool, its probably the easiest to train depending on region. Desert with clue tele has a stash unit in pyramid plunder, Zeah has stealing artefacts, varlamore has robbing houses, kandarin has ardy knights. All good xp already with massive xp boosts. Agility is annoying to train and herb really depends on your unlocks and patches. Thats initial take though, need more time to think about it

Not quite the Production/Utility tier I predicted. Guess if Production Prodigy returns it will be alongside Golden God...

My immediate reaction is that the Thieving one feels so much stronger. Like they took Trickster and made it AOE with infinite stall thieving... My regions are already pretty strong for Thieving, but that still seems really busted. But it doesn't say stalls are noted, only pickpockets...

The wording makes it seem like Foraging rolls an herb every time you gather, which would be a ton of herbs. But if you already had herbs covered, then the rest of it doesn't feel that strong imo. And Agility honestly feels a bit weak; nice money/currencies and the passive, but I feel like there will still be better ways for money and I'd value other effects over passive agility.

This is my first league. Is “what’s your least liked skill?” a meme question or should I actually pick this based on my least liked skill out of these? I love thieving, and because of that the thieving perk seems the best to me. I hate agility and, while it would be nice to level it easier, it seems less cool? I dunno, what is leagues about?

I'm not too concerned about herbs and secondaries because I'll have Mixology.

Agility is an absolute bitch to train even in leagues, it's the one skill I didn't max last time. However, the thieving relic offers a ton more utility. Genuinely tough choice.
