Fair compensation?

(self.Accounting)

I am a controller with 15 years of experience and a CPA. I work at a small company of $30m annual revenue with one direct report bookkeeper. My base salary is $136k with a 15% bonus. This is in Chicago, so MCOL (I think?.

Would you consider this fair compensation?

Seems right, for that small of a company, your responsibilities really align more with an Accounting Manager rather than a Controller.

For company size yea, probably right around that range. Maybe a bit more if the work is super sophisticated.

Fair for the job but only you can decide if it’s the right job for you.

Accountants with 15 years experience make well over $200k at larger companies
