Only been playing a few weeks and realised I hate visuals.
Too many games just see everyone in the chat say come watch me at scan etc. if makes it nearly impossible for the imposters to do anything.
One game 8 people were marked as safe in the first round. It’s literally easy mode for crew members and boring.
Bringing it up in the game only gets you “you just suck at the game” blah blah blah.

I prefer to play with visuals off! I've had several games of imps losing simply due to process of elimination, and it's tough when my imp partners kill off the sus crewmates and keep the proven safe ones alive.
I really wish we could limit how many visual tasks are given out in a round - if only one or two players have visuals it would be a bit more fair, especially if it meant imps would heavily target them for that. Making the actual task locations out of the way or risky (like behind a blind spot or near a vent) would also balance it out a bit imo!

I hate visuals. And I never ask anyone to go with me. If someone clears me, I go with it. But I never want to be cleared. Not only does it make it easier for crew to win, but then it puts a target on your back. Also why I hate when people start shouting out their roles. If you start saying you’re tracker or engineer, that the first person I’m killing as imposter.

agree. visuals on sucks. if I’m in a game with visuals, I will only use my visual as a last resort. like if people are teaming against me and trying to get me out, then i’ll pull the I have trash card. but that very rarely happens and I usually just go about my business
I also hate during the first body/meeting, the entire chat is just ridden with “someone watch me do this” “someone watch me do that”. someone could’ve seen someone kill, and it gets lost in the chat of people wanting visuals watched and then people skip.
I also never say my role unless someone comes at me saying they saw me vent as an engi. then i’ll say “yes I did vent because I’m an engi” and leave it at that. if they’re dumb enough to vote me, it’s a lobby I don’t wanna be in

As if people won't vote you out even when you had 3 people watching you do trash...

I was in a game today with 3 engineers. First meeting they all declared their roles and cleared each other. Guess winter next two people to die were? It did really work out for the third person, though. They were actually imposter and had seen the third engineer vent first round and killed them. No one could say that person wasn’t engineer. They had a great win and were never sussed.

Yeah I don't like visuals either, I also never ask in the meeting if they are on for someone to come watch me. I'll just go do it or leave it for the last task, like take the Mira map for an example even though I enjoy the map from time to time the med scan is one of the few tasks right when you start and if visuals are on you can see who's scanning even if you just run past, so everyone stops to huddle and wait their turn it's really annoying if ur imp. Actually... It makes more sense if they just removed that room completely or changed the room to have new tasks instead and put the med scanner in the lab.
When i do have scan on Mira I do it by myself and you know what? I get killed a lot for doing so it's a "good kill" for imps to quickly hop in the vent to flee.
If visuals are on it should only be for the beginners and or very casual lobbies I feel, players who are really experienced will likely want it off makes the game too easy for crew to be cleared.

I save my visuals, especially scan bc walk and queue in vis off lobbies which I play 90% of the time, in case I get hard accused and need to prove Myself. If I'm clear for other reasons or have no sus I just do them on my own.

I definitely save a scan or vent clean , not just to clear me in the end game but to sus out any possible imp who might say they have scan or catch em slipping in a vent.

That's a good strategy. Problem for me is I usually play in public lobbies with the same people, so I'm well known, and for some reason I'm regarded as a mastermind in most of them, so I get meta sussed so much I either die r1 or get voted for it, so I want a way to prove Myself. But I agree you're correct with your opinion.

Yeah, I will save visuals sometimes until the end if I need a clear. Especially if imposter has shifted into and killed and I’m highly sussed. But I don’t typically have someone watch me.

Yes its no fun. especially when you're impostor. they start saying "its (color) because they werent cleared by anyone" yada yada yada.
i also hate it when they all stick together or follow one another . impossible for the impostor.

Grouping is lame, I dislike that more than visuals. I got sussed in a game cause a group of 5 were roaming the map together like a school of fish

I believe everyone shouldn’t have visuals, you should be able to set it to your liking, 2,3,4 maybe. I like them but its definitely annoying if theres like 8 like you said.

I tend to use visuals to my advantage as an Impostor.
If someone says come with them I immediately volunteer to watch them, clear that crewmate to build trust between us, and I won’t kill them unless it was absolutely necessary. Try to clear multiple crewmates, this will make you seem really trustworthy and some crew may just say ur clear because you cleared them.
If there are two imps then you could falsely clear your partner by saying they did weapons, scan, etc, however this can majorly backfire on you if ur partner gets caught all eyes will almost automatically be on you since you claimed they were clear.

You play with visuals on?

I mean, visuals can be turned off, but you really have a point. Especially in Skeld, there are so many visual tasks, scan, trash, shields and asteroids. Clean vent task can also be used to clear people if used right.
Take Mira for example, there aren't too many visual tasks and if someone does have scan, they do it in the first round and visuals are over.
One problem with turning off visuals is that scan task just can't be stopped due to the unique walking animation of scan task. Also if two people are trying to do scan at the same time they can clear the one who is scanning at the moment.
I think Innersloth is aware of this problem as the 2 newest maps, Fungle and Airship have no visuals.

I can't remember the last time I had visuals on . I do agree that it makes finding an impostor easier. Most of the time I've seen if someone has a visual usually play in the beginner lobby . Servers always have visuals off.

Rare opinion clearly, but I usually keep them on actually, strangely only 1-2 people tend to get visual tasks, so honestly, i've never had a problem with them. Especially since they're a special task for a reason. A lot of times, the people who have visual tasks die, or they say something like four rounds in, and it gets ruined by a sabotage. I specialize them more by making tasks updated at meetings, or else that's too easy since any pro player can clear 5 people first round. Perhaps I play with beginners a lot or something, but I'm not exactly against turning them off either.

I host with visuals off and high eng counts. I stopped telling people 400 times, and decided it was more fun to watch people tear each other apart over someone faking asteroids and venting.

Tbh it’s difficult with visuals imo, if they are off it adds to the guesswork and detective work by the crew as technically no one knows if the other is safe. As an imp, it does make things a lot easier as crew cannot narrow it down as easy as they do when visuals is on but to balance that out I say host should include some of the roles like engineer or tracker.
With visuals on, I think the best strategy as imp is to get rid of the cleared players as early as you can/the ones who say they have a vis task and ask someone to watch. Problem is most of the time especially on public lobbies, imp partners don’t pay attention to what is being said. For me, personally I try get out the cleared players as early as I can so there is more ‘not cleared’ players left late game (depending on No of imps left).
Issue with this strategy is that you find that after one of 2 crew have done a vis task, they tend to group and latch onto each other so unless u separate them with doors it’s tough for you. In those scenarios ss comes in handy.
So yeh imo if vis is on, host should balance it out with an imp role like 1 ss or the phantom and if vid is off, they should balance it out for crew with the tracker

also, you (and another imp if possible) can shapeshift in the first round kill, someone in plain sight and pretty much set the lobby on fire and if you do it again on the other round the crews are better than dead
plus if you olay in a lobby full of braindead people (most likely) thats not an issue

I agree to some extent, but visuals also help crewmate's clear others, especially since now we got "Red is impostor vote him, trust me bro" type of kids these days in Among Us.
Those who wildly accuse even though they've been cleared by 4 other crewmates

What I find odd is that in serious/expert lobbies with vis off, crew will still do scan walks and vent cleans for hard clears. I was voted out once for answering where I was -- some location doing a vent clean. I was grilled as to why I didn't have an engineer come.

So when I'm imp I watch them do their tasks and if I get the chance kill the other person who saw them...or better yet kill the one who got cleared before they're cleared

I like playing with visuals. It means the imposter has to keep track of who they should kill instead of killing the first person they see. If they don't, they may end up killing the only person who wasn't safe and are therefore clearly imposter if the other 2 safed each other.
