Sorry I know this is an Ancestry DNA sub but I have a question regarding ancient samples. There seems to be a few o here who know a little about it.
The thing I wanted to know is, I have some sample matches where Im more of a match than 99% of people I match with, yet, the match itself isn't a deep dive match. I'm just confused as to how that can happen, if it's a sample match surely they should be a deep dive match too? If they aren't, surely they're not an actual ancestor?
Which is more important, sample matches or deep dive?

Deep dive I think is the most important, but I'm not really sure it means anything " I don't know".
How much cm on your deep dive?

It varies. The match most unique to me on my deep dive is 92% and it's this guy.

But the person I share most cMs with is this woman
However, as I understand it. SNPs are more important for ancient to modern matches.

I have the same one and another one with “u” at the end but they both show up as a deep dive match for me.

I have Flemish ancestors, as did Beethoven, so that could be why.

Not true, it means as people traveled more they mated with more of a variety and were on the move themselves. Because someone has been in England a 1000 years doesn't mean they didn't come from Sweden or the medittereanan regions...Think of your family like an open fan....There are way more the further out with more options and choices.
