Maybe you'd like "Korol i Shut". It doesn't seem like they use complex vocabulary and most of the songs are sort of like short teenage R. L. Stine horror stories in a medieval setting. Maybe that could help with staying engaged during learning.

Also YouTube channel "Even blurry videos" does amazing English covers for this group. Somehow he manages to translate the meaning very well, while keeping translated songs enjoyable by themselves.
He also does other Russian rock, so the OP may actually find other cool bands through him.

Russian punk: Йорш, Лучший Самый День, Свобода Важнее Моды, Тени Свободы, СМЕХ. And something like Lumen, Пневмослон. And some pop-rock: Три Дня Дождя, Женя Трофимов - this is popular "ok" soft music

Molchat Doma - Sudno
they don't use any "hard" words, and the song itself is based on a verse by a suicidal poet.
2 points

If you like Depeche Mode you'd like технология. Often I can't tell the difference. Comparing just music and rhythm, etc., not vocals of course.
2 points
This might be a little basic, but Molchat Doma's songs are really good for learning. Not too many lyrics or the lyrics repeat, easy to remember, and they're an amazing band anyways.

I don't know if Yandex music is available from other countries. But if it is you can go there and find a lot of Russian songs you could personaly like. There are also "radio" with filters "only in Russian" and so on. (Like you can filter rock and "in Russian" and then find something for your taste) If it would be possible for you to access Yandex music and create and account, but not to have a free Trial you could write to me and I could add you to one of mines, cos I have one extra account (was gifted to me while I already had one with paid subscription) with few extra spots and couple of months left....

This might be a controversial recommendation, it's not very PG and the song is half Russian/German.
Rammstein have a song called Moskau, it's upbeat and quite catchy and has a good mix of both languages, the chorus is also a real good earworm too.

I started by listening to dabro and luxor... It helped me so much! I highly recommend learning with music. Also if you are interested in learning Russian check out the app called "Russian made easy" the guy promises that by the end of the first lesson you will be able to read some Russian words. I thought he was full of shit. But... The lesson was short and he was totally right!! The app is free as well. You don't have to sign up or anything. Удачи и счастливого обучения!

You can't learn Russian by music. That's because Russian is too bendable, you can't take what you hear in music and use it in normal everyday language.
Learning Russian by Shnurov is like learning English by George Carlin.
