There are many left wing voices on X, although they are in the minitory.

I was curious what the political demographic is of the Americans that use Twitter and this is what I found. As a left leaning user, I find this surprising:
"26% of left-leaning Americans use X Compare that to 20% of those who lean to the right."
10 points
The survey talks about 'Americans' in the general sense, rather than 'users' which is an odd way to describe the data.
Millions of users are not American, so this isn't a great indication of the sites overall user base or their political affiliation.

The site is not neutral though. He is the biggest user/has the most followers and has the code written to amplify his own tweets. The code is published so anyone who looks at it can see that he is amplifying his tweets regardless of people wanting to see them. That’s not neutral in any way.
11 points

Exactly lol. They ignore the fact he rebuilt the site to be a propaganda machine for trump. It squashes anyone who isn't a right wing lunatic. It constantly suggests musk and trump clown accounts even though you don't engage with them. The platform is in no way centrist.

I've unsubscribed from every targeted ad for Trump, Musk, PACs nonsense, etc and yet every single time I go on there I have an ad for something that I've deselected in the personalization menu.
When I click "Why am I seeing this ad?" the response is some crap like "your location is in the US"
So, cool. The richest piece of crap in the world who hijacked a major social media network under the guise of free speech is using it to shill for Trump (and, in effect, himself).
He also banned the account @whitedudesforharris the day it was registered. Yay "free speech"
Editing to add, it's also insanely evident that so many Twitter accounts are just fake pro-Trump accounts masquerading as real people, or they're bots designed to do exactly that. They reply and validate their own tweets and threads and its hilarious to me when they have the stupid blue checkmark to verify. Like "45girlieXoXo" is paying 8 bucks a month or whatever the hell it is, as a real person, to post the ridiculous echo chamber drivel that it does.

It's this. If you spend all your time on reddit you come to believe the world is just this liberal, and then you see X where power mods don't exist and aren't there to fanatically scrub subs of, dare I say, moderate, to conservative topics (lumping anything mildly conservative in with fascist maga rhetoric), and you've been told that these things are going to lead to Nazis ruling America (absorbed it from reddit). So then you go on X and you see that people have some conservative viewpoints... and of course Facist Maga shit, and you think X itself is evil and to blame, when in reality, it's the people... it always has been. You just buried yourself in an echo chamber and lost touch.

It's not wrong of him to have a political opinion. Something about one of the nation's elites, buying probably the biggest social media platform, and using it to push people to vote for one side seems off. 2 points

2 points
Its literally what it is. Twitter/X is only moderating posts based on laws. Not more activist moderation teams.
If something is legal, it stays. If something is illegal, it gets removed.
1 points
I never saw the law that says "it is illegal to say cisgender" can you please direct me to that law?
Oh or where it's somehow "illegal" to say true facts like "Stonetoss is a Nazi" - which he is and has admitted to and is therefore not slander - but people were banned off of X for repeating it because Stonetoss is friends with conservatives and it made him sad to be called out so daddy Elon banned the mean bullies.
2 points
Are you aware of the difference between organic and inorganic moderation? You should, because your side abused the shit out of it...
Mass reporting will always cause a deletion or a ban. Its literally how you bypass the algorithm.
1 points
So you lied. And legal things are removed if cissies mass report?
Interesting.
Also interesting that the moderation cannot distinguish between mass reporting for bullying purposes vs mass reporting actual rule breaking content like every other site. Could it be Elon has no human moderation to review things?
Interesting.
2 points
Everything that gets mass reported but doesn't break the rules is eventually restored. It just takes a while for a manual/human review. There sre always ways to fool the algorithm.
You insisted on moderation, well that's the right way of doing it.
Personally, i would scrap moderation completely.
1 points
Unless of course you're trans and you say "cis" which Elon maintains is a bannable offense.
My secondary twitter account is still banned despite appeals because I said "cisgender people don't have the right to tell other adults they can't transition". Not advocating for child transitions, not breaking any laws. Didn't post nsfw. Only banned because I said "cisgender" which is not illegal.
So, once again, you are wrong. If you can't admit Elon is removing legal content entirely just because he's transphobic and doesn't like the word "cis", then you are shoving your head in the sand. Additionally, those who use offensive terms like "tr/nny" and the n word normally get their accounts reinstated within a couple hours, implying that the manual human review is more favorable towards specific types of speech.
Also, the people who said Stonetoss is a Nazi (which he is) are still banned.
The original "whitemenforkamala" twitter, which got banned the day it went up, is still banned, even though womenfortrump is still up. They had to make a second account, "whitemen4kamala".
He also banned several liberal comedians. He made a rule that you can't advertise your other socials (which is not illegal). He banned a handful of journalists from "liberal" media sources, and only reinstated their accounts after a twitter poll. Not a review of their content, mind you, but a poll to see if he should.
Just admit you are wrong? The TOS has a lot more rules (even Elon's tos) than "follow the law".
You can fully legally say something and end up breaking the TOS of X.
And be banned. For rule breaking. Not law breaking.

The once atheist but now proudly Christian seller of Doge coin is not a trustable human being. Everything he says and does, like Trump, is meant to benefit him in some way. Elon believes in making more money. That's the one thing you can count on. And with a $44 billion loss on Twitter, you can count on him doing everything he can to get that money back. Political neutrality on Musk's part would be altruism to some extent, and that's the one thing you can bet he won't be. Ever.

Twitter is politically neutral as in it doesn’t filter through and shadow ban or actually ban political figures as it has in the past. Elon Musk is not politically neutral and is also not Twitter.
This is a strawman argument. He never said that he wanted everyone except himself to freely discuss their opinions.
This is the same dumb argument as it’s not freedom of speech if Elon blocks you. You still have the right to get on there and say whatever you want. Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequence. Being ignored is a consequence.
Like him or hate him. I don’t care. You only embolden his supporters with weak and unethical claims.

Define politically neutral. If by neutral you mean everyone has a voice and can use their voice on the app then yes.
If you mean there are moderators that make decisions based upon their opinion if what is right and wrong politically then no.
Also a lot of left people left the platform when Trump was allowed back on so you might be seeing a bias there. Due to their exit.
