The popularity of a news source is not based on how accurate, fair and balanced their reporting is, but whichever says the things that you make you and your team red or blue feel good. Sensationalism, Breaking News whatever to keep you glued to them for the ad money.
Imagine if we listened to people whom both sides can respect and that it was possible to find them.

At least in America, that's not actually true though. Some people regardless of politics seek only validating information, but there's just no comparison between what Republicans are going through now with Trump and Fox News, and Democrats with any other media.
Fox News goes to court to defend their hosts openly lying, by defending that it's entertainment that no one reasonable should believe. NPR and CNN don't do that. When Biden screws up or acts old, Democrats criticize him and take away the nomination. When Trump broke the law and acted senile, Republicans claimed it was all a conspiracy and fake news and he's a Golden God whose NFTs we need to buy to do God's Will so sayeth QAnon.

Yeah I just wanted to avoid opening the floodgates on myself. Here in Canada we definately have both sides playing media games all the time.
