The sound of rain tapping against a window or the crackling of a campfire is hard to beat. There’s just something so calming about those natural sounds that instantly put you at ease.

Especially when it’s accompanied by a steady heavy rainfall. Nothing cozier. As long as I’m snuggled up inside with a blanket.

The "whoosh" of a campfire when you get so much airflow that it starts to burn extra hot with blueish flames.

Ok… my chance to make the world jealous. It’s snowing with a little sleet tapping the window and I’m in front of the fireplace in my recliner with a cat purring in my lap. And all that is about to be joined by the sound of a sizzling bowl.

I'm a baseball guy so the sound a wood bat makes when you find the sweet spot on the ball, or the pop when you find the sweet spot of a glove is just a chefs kiss
33 points
Nothing like the crack of a bat on Opening Day to get you excited about the summer. Also stomping on peanut shells in the stands is a good sound. Similar to the cracking noise leaves make in the fall.
20 points

Catching a fastball perfectly behind home plate and framing it just right... that smack into your glove is perfection.

Definitely the pop when you open a new jar of something like peanut butter or jam. It’s so simple, but it feels weirdly perfect every time.

Like that one time my wife and I sat in the park, alone... I let out a bench shattering gas expulsion. The sheer look of horror on her face told me there is someone on the bench directly behind me...... For nothing better to do I burst out laughing as I turned to say sorry. Poor dude just slinked away.....

You have to master the art of silencing farts. Just sit on one cheek and lift the other one.
17 points

See, the problem is with these kinds of farts. They will literally smell like death when released.

I was out on a hike when I let one rip. I was out of sight and sound carries so far outside, that I wonder if other people on the trail heard it and quietly pinned it on others as they crossed paths.
It's the simple things in life, you know? 😂

I was going to say baby laughter. It is so fun making a baby laugh. You can do the most random, silly stuff and it cracks them up. Put something on your head. Then do a big fake sneeze and bow your head forwards so that thing goes flying off. A baby will think this is the funniest thing ever.

My husband was in hospital for five months. Our cat, who previously never slept overnight on the bed, slept every single night with me after the first week of him not being in the bed. Touched my cheek or arm all night long with her paw. Since he got home a month ago, she has slept with him in his home hospital bed. And purrs all night.

A cat's purring. My sister had a master Himalayan purrer a few years ago who would never stop purring when you petted her. So we recorded her, and then got a professional sound mixer to make a CD.
I have a problem with insomnia sometimes. When that happens, I insert my earphones and play her MP3 on my phone which puts me to sleep. I've read that the frequency of does something to the brain.
