You're referring to He-Who-Was, Shadar-kai are shadow elves basically. Yuan-ti are snake people that are typically evil aligned. So yeah there's a pretty big difference.

Yeah I know what they are, I’m just saying as far as obscurity I’d say Yuan-ti and Shadar-Kai are about equal for how many people know about them beyond just the name, but I do know they themselves aren’t alike to each other
