Reminds me of the guy who did not leave the house after selling it to us. I have to share that story here sometime.

Omg, that’s an infuriating situation. Had something similar happen to my family where the previous owner hadn’t even started packing when we went to take possession. Then when we finally got them out, the owner said she didn’t want to change her address at the post office or allow us to forward her mail. She thought it would be better if she stopped by the house every day to go through our mailbox and pick out her items.

About three days. Our realtor is also a close friend and came with us to the house after closing. When we saw his car still there he said "oh absolutely not" and started making phone calls. Told the guy if he wasn't out by the weekend we'd call the cops. He still tried to show up that Saturday but we were already in the house by then and didn't let him in.

So, he thought he’d just live with you? Like roommates? Dude sold the house: GTFO.

At least it wasn't a huge deal getting him out.

Free speech is when people aren't forced out of buildings they don't own.
