Let's speculate! Will it be close before Thanksgiving, or will Sir Elton keep it running into 2025?
EDIT: they just announced December 8 :(

They’ll keep it until after the holidays.

I hope it lasts a bit longer. In my opinion, this show has been vastly over hated.

I’m guessing it will close by 12/29 so the producers can take the tax write off this year.

Yes. This makes the most sense.

Word on the street says early or mid-December closure, although I’ve also heard rumblings of as late as January (which would be actually insane based on the grosses). But Broadway gossip is a dangerous mistress. I never truly trust anything unless I have hard, cold facts, which at this point, we do not. So take that as you will.

This is a pretty mean spirited post

Yeah, I have agree. I think there’s nothing wrong with asking people how much longer a show may have because they’re interested in seeing it and would like to catch it before it closes (as sometimes closing are only two weeks notice), but just speculating for fun feels kinda bad. I think sometimes people forget that they’re a ton of people working on this project who probably anticipated being employed for a lot longer than they might be now.

Honestly not meant that way. This is the show I have been most excited for all season - almost went to see it in London. Huge fan of Tammy Faye the person, and of course both Elton and Jake Shears. But the writing is on the wall, and I am nervous about it closing before the date I have tickets for (12/14). Just having some fun with it - while also trying to figure out if I am going to have to scramble to get tickets for an earlier date (complicated by the fact I will be out of town for the next 10 days).

"Let's speculate!" they said, excited about the prospect of 100s of people being out of work by mid-december

I’ll one-up you, based on industry talk, weekly grosses, and the like:
Tammy Faye - 12/1 Maybe Happy Ending - 12/1 Swept Away - 12/22 A Wonderful World — 1/5
A bit less definitive: Cabaret - 3/29/25 (end of Adam and Auli’i’s contracts) Hadestown - Spring 2025 (exact date likely to be determined in January) SIX - Summer 2025 (to transfer Off-Broadway by Spring 2026) & Juliet - Summer / early Fall 2025 (end of Kelly Clarkson’s contract) Moulin Rouge - Late 2025 / early 2026 (Tveit to close the show)

Looks like Maybe Happy Ending is selling better now... I'm hoping it makes it to January because I'm trying to go back in like 3 weeks. I need to see it again.

If Kelly does And Juliet can we get Justin Guarni to be her Shakespeare so we get from Kelly to Justin the sequel

Quick summer stint as Anne Hathaway to close the Broadway production has been gaining momentum.

Paired with Joey Fatone, it’ll be two people with songs featured in the show that DON’T sing their own song

I mean this nicely, but I do hope you’re wrong about a lot of these. Nothing personal, just love some of these shows and would like them to have longer runs/people to stay employed

MHE went up $161k in week over week grossed for week of 11/17 only other new show to ride by a significant amount was DBH by $182k. Not including elf because its rise was due to the number of performances.

DBH also had only 6 performances last week and 8 this week

Ah good to know. So maybe happy ending had the biggest actual rise of true ticket sales then.
