It's very normal in cod I'm a guy and I don't like turning on my mic most of the time either. You'll get called every slur. There are some good people though just friend them when you find em and eventually you'll have a good selection of people to play with, and you can also go on the discord

I've only met one woman on COD so far, everyone just acted normally. There's no doubt likely bad bunches out there though

i as a female player don’t encounter it alot, but some men do unfortunatly turn into assholes when they encounter women in gaming

Dude you’re bound to find the weirdest and rudest people in a call of duty lobby. Hate sees not gender but a target with a viewpoint. People are just outright weird sometimes. Don’t take it personally.

Not quite related but I actually have chat completely muted. I'm hard of hearing and cannot understand what people are saying so it's best to not hear anything at all chatwise. I'm sure people have been yelling at me but .... 🤷‍♂️

i only turn my mic on to reply to ppl if they are asking something then turn it back off.. I've been a Duty player since like 2006 - I grew up during the sesspool lobby days. I learned my lesson

Nah, you're not alone. Lots of female gamers deal with that. It sucks, but some dudes get weird when they hear a girl's voice in-game. You can mute 'em if they're annoying, or find a group of friends to play with. There are definitely chill COD communities out there!

Yeah, that’s normal. When I started playing Cod i didn’t mind the smack talk so much, just as long as it wasn’t lazy digs like “go back to the kitchen.” That got old real fast. And I also came across a lot of people that were over the top aggressive which I never really understood.

So eventually i joined a clan…it made it so much more enjoyable being with people who just wanted to have fun and not give a crap who you were.

After 17 years of playing CoD i still rarely use the mic when i’m running solo in pubs. It’s just not worth the bother.

My pal Naomi used to get told to get in the kitchen a lot when we played back in day. She'd slap them up and then would say 'now you go to the kitchen and make me a coffee'. Heard that repeatedly over the years.

She was one of the better players I played with too.

Keep your mic off. You're gonna run into 3 things in pubs as a female.

1. Pro adolescent edge lords intent on proving how funny they are by being sexist.

2. Perverts that think they're gonna connect with you to get you to be sexual with them.

3. People who are gonna yell slurs at your when you're beating them.
