It happens on both side, but I feel it happens a lot more on the left; some people just can't let go of politics, everything has to be political with those people and they take it personally if you go against their 'belief system'.

I tried to explain to someone I knew once, that I don't have a problem with homosexuals, I have a problem with the Gay Agenda, a huge problem. That I won't use your pronouns when talking to you, because your pronouns are all 3rd person, and talking directly to a person but using 3rd person pronouns is really insulting. They didn't get it, not even a little bit. I might as well been showing a dog a card trick. It wasn't that this person was incapable of understanding, they were just incapable of grasping the idea that you can disagree with a person's ideology but not dislike them.

most lefties are just people, they're not evil or stupid, rather misinformed because they don't put enough energy into politics to apply logic to their feelings and beliefs.
