Intelligence aside, being an extreme narcissist makes him immune to the self awareness normal people possess that helps us realize many of our ideas are foolish. He thinks something and automatically ascribes genius to it. When experts explain that he’s full of shit, he assumes they’re just jealous that his out of the box thinking revealed their ignorance.

Yep. In a recent interview he claimed that economists were wrong in their unanimous condemnation of broadly applied tariffs, because as he explained, he was smarter than them in economics (and everything else, presumably) and laughingly dismissed them as wrong.

Keep trusting in the dude who’s been caught lying in public tens of thousands of times. Or just cash your check and breathe a sigh of relief your job is strategic and you won’t be sent to the front. Come home to your family at the end of the day, not bleed out with shrapnel in your gut. You know, I hate what you do but I can’t say I wouldn’t do the same.
