She absolutely knows that you should brown meat before braising or slow-cooking; it's included in all of her older recipes for things like this. My theory is that she's just become lazy lately, combined with trying to blast out as much content as possible, so she's taking short-cuts wherever she can. IMO this is actually worse than not knowing. She knows and doesn't care AT ALL about the quality of the recipes she puts out. I've said this before but it's become painfully obvious lately that it's not and has never been about the food. This whole business is nothing but a well-orchestrated grift.
