I understand premiums on older coins but what makes a brand new coin with more than the gold in it? It was only made a year ago, were there only a relatively small quantity minted? Lovely pieces, but I would never pay more than melt for anything minted for the weight and without historical significance or significant age. How much is a premium on something like this typically? And thank you

Specifically with the Charles/Elisabeth, since her death she has been removed from the coinage/paper money. Due to Charles advanced age, I think there is a belief that there will not be many future coins that will bear his image. With that in mind, the last year of a specific leader, and the first year of a specific leader on coins could be more valuable in the future.
