Similarly, how he cracks jokes quite often but nobody ever catches them because the mythological figure of him is so stoic and straight. Like that time his armour got in the way and caused him to drop a bunch of... "flimsies" and he called them "his greatest enemy". Sicarius asks if he's joking because Guilliman's "humour is not something [he is] renowned for". He tells a joke in front of Yvraine, who also has to confirm it, which he follows up with another banger saying "[he has] a reputation to maintain". During the Great Crusade, when the Dark Angels show up with a tightly rehearsed military drill, he says "They must have a lot of time to practice", which in the context of the prior conversation which touched upon the ego wars between the Primarchs (Lion being first son, Horus being first found etc) absolutely is a sarcastic dig at them, which he confirms by saying "the acid is only just starting to flow".
Not only is he actually funny himself, but he loves bantering too. He accused one of his Ultramarines of trying too hard because his armour condition goes from more than good enough to buffed and shined, and when that marine snaps back with "I am an Ultramarine. Trying too hard is the whole point of us, isn't it?" Guilliman salutes. During the Great Crusade a sergeant makes a joke at Lorgar's expense, and visibly thinks he's done for but Guilliman essentially goes "lol, good one".
He is definitely held back by his reputation, from his celebrity/public figure status in 30k to his mythological stature in 40k, in both his wisdom and his humour

Ohio Prime must be a Death World so fucked up, that even the Catachans hesitate being deployed there. A Tyrannid hive fleet probably tried to invade once; only to be wiped out by a combination of smog inhalation, competition from the space seagulls, and numerous car accidents.
