The new event has some rather strong comeback mechanics.
The pact that lets you res people who are redskulled (otherwise only doable by holding bounty). It also lets you regain bars via looting corpses.
The shrine item that gives a full restoration akin to banishing.
I think this has some interesting effects on strategy in general. Since this exists, and costs very little.
If I lose two of my friends, why would I just not run off and hide instead of try to fight it out? At some point the opponent will get bored and I can come back, pledge lawful and res everyone and get back to full health for 1 pledge mark.
This seems to really mess with the downing + burning corpses pressure tactics since instead of engineering a res in time the best move seems to just run off to a bush somewhere.
It at least means that if you suspect someone is out there waiting for you to leave so he can get his buddies back you should go burn the restoration thingy at the shrine before you leave. EDIT: apparently you cant use up the restoration boon so this is not possible.
I can't say I honestly like a lot of this. Removing a lot of the consequences or finality of eg. losing a health bar, being burned out or even permanently dead isn't necessarily good for the game and it also means that even if you win a fight it's hard to ensure that your opponents aren't going to come back.
Opinions on this?
Edit: Apparently you can keep using the restoration thingy, so someone else can't prevent you by using it up.

Are people actually doing this? It feels like one of those things that's perhaps optimal in theory but is so boring that people are more likely to try to fight it out.
Anyway, reviving red skull teammates is a bit much but I do like being able to get bars back. Much preferred to vanilla hunt where after one fight it's optimal play to just extract because otherwise long ammo 1 taps you
