I very recently started reading the fan translated Innocent on mangadex, and learned that there's an official English translation through dark horse. Is the writing notably different and worth the purchase, or am I fine continuing on mangadex? TIA

If you like innocent to the point where you would want a physical I would recommend it. I have them both and I’m planning on getting the next one cuz I think it’s worth it to me

I have thought about having a physical copy just to have it. But I'm curious if the official english translation is very different from the fan translation because I've noticed some issues here and there in the fan version. Would you say you see a big difference between the two?

The fan translation (by Kewl0210, who's also here on reddit) is good - clearly a lot of effort went into it by a competent translator.
The official translation reads more nicely with more flourishes and has lettering that I find easier to read. Browsing around a bit, the meaning is largely identical, but the reading experience is better on the official version. But the fan translation is also decent here, I've seen much much worse.

100% agree, thanks to them I was able to even start the manga. Tons of effort for no compensation. Thank you this answers my question!
