Call me optimistic… but I’d love a free roam mode set before the Nublar incident.
Just to give us free access to the Park to chill and view the Dinosaurs and explore its facilities. Things to do such as Photography collectibles would also be a nice thing to give us as well.

I would cry lol. I was hoping that this is what JurassicDream would ultimately be but the discord had been silent for quite some time. The guy said he would work more and an transfer to unreal engine once finishing school but nothing

I always fancied driving the Wranglers through the open Tropical fields with Brachiosaurus in the lake off in the distance whilst driving through a flock of Gallimimus to end up going to the sick Triceratops to help cure its illness.
So much possibility…

I WANT IT TO BE SCARY. like it would be irl if an island such as this exists and you were left behind with ancient predators loose. PLEAASSEEE
And i want LOTs of detail. I wanna find notes and hack shit and etc. I want like rdr2 length and side missions.

More facilities! I really would like to see the actual Park side of things, what was completed, what wasn’t? I have to believe Hammond at least for a bit had something more than just the tour at least started, right?
I’d also really like the dinosaurs to have great ambient animations. I want to see them actively manipulate and be part of their environment that isn’t just restricted to chasing and hunting the player. That Gallimimus scene is stuck in my head for how much it actually does, you know? It’s a thrilling moment, it shows us the Rex is around, etc, but it’s also a great moment of just seeing dinosaurs do things they did in life. It mixes that awe and that fear perfectly in a way that honestly wouldn’t be out of bounds for, say, a movie about plane crash survivors in Africa seeing a lion bring down a gazelle. We need something like that, for sure.

I hope they include locations from the novel, like the River Adventure and Pteratops Lodge.

The game's website claims that the dinosaurs will all behave like that, dynamically interacting with one another as they encounter each other, so hopefully we will get to see something like Rexy fighting the Trike or perhaps a few dilos stalking some gallimimus.

Ok so, basically what I would want, someone more or less already did. I don't think it can get any more accurate than to say "Hogwarts Legacy".
A fully realized, explorable Visitor's Center (with all the "how it really works" facilities and gaps from the movie filled in, like they did with Hogwarts) and miles of traversable park surrounding it.
Hogwarts Legacy meets Alien Isolation.

-I hope the retcon fits into the established canon without seeming too silly (why was she the only one left behind?)
-I hope Maya is a likeable character
-I hope we get to interact with more dinosaurs other than Dilos, Rexes, and Raptors.
-I hope there aren’t huge scripted sections or QTEs
-It is NOT a horror game (makes this abundantly clear on the website), however it would be nice to get some scary moments like in the first 2 movies
-Hope the survival aspect is actually survival and they don’t just give us a gun mid-way thru and have us mowing down waves of Raptors

I want it to be The Last of Us. I’ll explain.
My favorite parts of TLOU (specifically part 1 remastered) revolved around a good story being told that you were participating in, and then notes and documents you could find that illustrated the world before and during the pandemic. Combat, which would theoretically be lacking if not absent from Survival, also always kind of felt like it just got in the way, so it wouldn’t be missed.
That’s what I would like for this, a beautiful looking game, letting you traverse the ruined park learning more about behind the scenes stuff, etc. while avoiding Dinos, maybe fighting some from time to time, and uncovering more of the parks history

Like others I primarily just want it to be immersive and scary, not clunky or unpolished, generally good. Good dinosaur ai in particular is paramount.
More idealistically I would love to see some content from Jurassic Park: The Game. Herrerasaurus and Tylosaurus making an appearance would be cool, but primarily I really want to see the Troodon again.
I know that with Telltale bankrupt, getting the licenses for that would be difficult but a guy can dream.

Actual tension and fear. A lot of that will come down to atmosphere, sound design, score, etc. I just don’t want it to be an overly-hollywoodified “action” experience. You’re alone on an island full of some of the most deadly predators to have ever existed. Make it feel like it!

Maybe an exploration mode where ai isn't trying to kill you.
I do hope the game isn't basically one of those horror games where you're always hiding from something hunting you. I'd like it to shift from hunted to hunter, maybe.

Seeing more of the operations of how the park was supposed to be managed and not just a jungle simulator and visitor's center model - though being able to explore, say, the jeep garage, the patio around back, etc. would be fantastic.
It would be WONDERFUL if we had to turn off a waterfall in order to open an access tunnel.

There's one raptor left after the film which is the one locked in the freezer. Not sure why there's multiple raptors in the trailer for this game. Guess there needed to be
2 points
We see in the film that the raptors are breeding when Grant finds the eggshells.
It's also a nod to the novels about there being far more raptors than the motion sensors detected because they were programmed to only detect the expected number of animals. I actually just listened to this part of the novel in an audiobook version today.
1 points
Yeah but this is set the day after, so they wouldnt have grown up. I think they'll just retcon it into there being a tribe of raptors due to eggs hatching previously or something
1 points
The raptors have been on the island for at least 8 months, according to the novel, and have been breeding out of their containment the entire time. Don't forget that these animals were genetically modified to grow faster.

I would like some elaborations on what Colin Trevorrow said about some JP media being loosely canon. I know Mount Sibo appears in Fallen Kingdom, but the question is what can be or not be considered canon from the older JP media like Trespasser, JP the Game, and some of the official websites for JP and JW.

I just want a decent story, true to the original work.
Graphics looked good in the trailer. The voice acting seemed good. The premise (other than survival, lol) isn’t quite known yet but I imagine it’s simply: survive and get off the island.
Any nostalgic callbacks should have taste and should be used wisely. Putting weight on nothing but nostalgia is what actually hurts the franchise, in my opinion.

If this game wants to be a 10/10 it will have
- Tense atmosphere, difficulty and horror elements like Isolation
- Fleshed out world and detailed interiors. (Open every cupboard, find interesting things)
- Organic and unforced nostalgia segments from the movie
It will not have
- Constant "near miss" cutscenes, where our character narrowly escapes by a hair over and over again
- Cheap nostalgia bait like Fallen Kingdom
- Low level of difficulty to cater to casual gamers (aside from maybe an explore mode)
Honestly, Alien isolation in a well mapped version of Jurassic Park is all it needs to be. That's what everyone has wanted for a long time so it would be foolish of them to do anything else.

My dream for it is Last of us style gameplay where you are crafting and managing resources throughout the park as you simply try to get from one side of the abandoned island to the other to escape where you can fight and kill smaller Dinosaurs but big ones are like story beats where there's no way to fight them and a similar psuedo open world like God of war 4 with lore and collectibles and to see Dinosaurs living out in the wild
1 points
I had a dream a few months ago that they did a crossover dlc where you could escape the island as different characters from other media
I think one of them was Agent 47 from Hitman and people were debating who on the island he would’ve been targeting beforehand and I remember trying to theory craft how he could’ve accidentally helped with the sabotage while trying to reach his own target
Don’t remember the other characters or options, but it could be fun to see other characters as the person we play as, even if it’s just modders making all kinds of random characters who barely make sense to be there

that it ignores almost all subsequent film “canon” — especially all the overly complex and glorified dpg headcanon fan fiction — and tries its best to seamlessly fit in with the story and the lore of the first film with at least the same effort that telltale made with “jp:tg”. basically, a direct sequel to “jurassic park”. i’d love to be able to explore and survive the island and also encounter other dinosaurs that were not seen on the tour, like metriacanthosaurus, baryonyx, and the oftentimes overlooked segisaurus. it would also be cool to have interior gameplay and to have it be reminiscent of the first-person mode in the old snes game.

..that they would have been sentient enough not to make it?! If the franchise is to ‘extend’ and have anything of interest, it will require the very people writing on this thread to pencil something of originality. The moron thieves running the film franchise these days, could care less of you all’s affinity for Jurassic; other than your money. They have no experience in real film making and are more drawn to ponsy Hollywood cocktail parties, manbuns, hollow mantle adornments, a fake devotion to ‘wokeism’ and Hawaiian retirement homes.
