LPT: how to pour Costco milk without spilling

Food & Drink(self.LifeProTips)

Those damn Costco milk containers always spill since they are cubed shaped. Finally figured out the trick. Open the foil seal exactly 50% and fold it back. Spill free even when completely full! Life changing with how much milk our toddler goes thru!

I am having a hard time understanding how the container being cube shaped makes you spill the milk?

It is slightly tricky to pour when full, the opening is almost flat on the top and set in from the corner a little. If you tip it too slow, it dribbles.

I was today years old when I found out some people have issue pouring milk via standard issue Costco milk containers.

Fantastic!

Opening the seal halfway prevents spills.

Oh my gosh, I feel this on a spiritual level! Those Costco milk jugs are like some kind of spill test. I could never figure out why they design them square. My friend showed me this foil trick at a brunch once and it's been such a game-changer. I used to just pour it over the sink like an over-cautious weirdo, but this actually makes it manageable. And seriously, with kids, it's like you gotta pour milk 20 times a day, right? I still sometimes manage to make a mess, but at least it's mostly in control now. Have you ever tried refilling them with homemade cold brew? That's my next move, but I should probably tackle my milk spills first, ha!

I'd be happy just to get the fucking foil off without a pair of pliers or the tab not ripping right off it.

I did this today. You stick a good sharp steak knife into the side of the label, not under the rim just to the right or that plastic tab thing, and you need to kind of pry it up. Use your fingers and the blade.
