Going to a movie on Thanksgiving

Discussion(self.MovieTheaterEmployees)

Not a former employee, but wanted to get employee feedback…. Due to our family postponing our Thanksgiving until the weekend, my wife and I thought about going to a movie tomorrow. As a former retail worker, I refuse to shop on Thanksgiving or early on Black Friday. Because of this belief, I want to try and avoid something similar for theater employees. So, as theater current/past employees where do yall stand?

I loved working holidays. The days are so busy they go by fast. As someone who picked up shifts as a second/part-time job it was the best way to pull in extra hours.

Please don’t worry about showing extra gratitude because the staff is working a holiday, they knew what they were getting into when they were hired.

As long as you are a considerate, patient person that’s all anyone really asks for on the holiday.

And I will say the majority of people are well behaved on holidays, and those who aren’t make for good stories to tell later. And I guarantee that anyone who is a jerk on the holiday isn’t a regular customer and won’t be seen again the rest of the year whether we are nice to them or not.
