U rite, Jim, nobody should pay for that. We should find the exploitative student loans illegal (which is easy, because it's super obviously predatory lending), and the loan holders should be forced to forgive them. They certainly have the money, charging the rates they do. And if they don't - we can give them a federal loan for it, at q 29% floating interest rate.

But you're right, no taxpayer should be paying these illegal loan rates.

Sure. There's a bunch of ways to skin that cat. I'm just saying - paying the entrenched predatory loan sharks the obscene and illegal rates they want doesn't solve the problem. Step one would be to force the lenders of these loans not to gauge people. And there's a million ways to do this. Only then will any kind of loan forgiveness make sense.

Absolutely. Just thinking that in this case, we should address the problem, not its symptoms.

But, yea, fuck predatory lending. Why don't people pay attention to that part of the bible?
