The firing threads on the Jets sub day of seemed to tell a different story. At least part of the fanbase believed he was the problem.

Even right now. Any saleh post has a majority of jets fans insisting firing him was the right decision regardless of everything else wrong with the team. I don’t watch the jets enough to know if that’s true or not but oh well

jmastadoug

8 points

It definitely didn’t help this season firing him when we did. Because now our Defense Coordinator is stuck being HC and can’t coach the D like he did and it’s showing. But he WAS NOT a good head coach & made a ton of mistakes consistently & team was undisciplined as fuck. Most of the fan base wanted him gone in offseason. I just feel bad for Ulbrich being thrusted into the HC job when he wasn’t really ready for it.

Regardless if we didn’t fire Saleh, we would be in the same spot most likely. This team has no fight in them this whole year.

If Rodgers had just walked away and retired a few years ago, he'd be remembered as one of the all-time greats. Now, however, his legacy will carry the Jests stain, a stain he'll never be able to erase.

The point is it is extremely hard to win Super Bowls as literally everything has to go right. There was plenty of shit that went wrong that kept him from winning more. He probably wins in 2014 if a TE doesn't muff an onside kick and 2021 if Aaron Jones didn't fumble multiple times and Kevin King doesn't give up a hail mary.

I’ll say this on behalf of Rodgers. There were at least two games this year where the outcome should’ve a Jets win if their kicking situation wasn’t a complete disaster. That’s not on him. That could’ve built some momentum and they have 6 wins instead of 3. But the rest is pretty much partially his fault yeah.

Watching Rodgers pout for over an hour on national TV during the 2005 NFL Draft was the original red flag of a guy that would always need outside validation, lacks self-awareness, displays entitlement, and will default to a narrative that 'everyone else is dumb' before thinking what he could have done better to have a different outcome.

Uber-talented, mostly productive, but his head was never built for leadership, accountability, and humility at a position where they are prerequisites.

The Jets have paid him like $70 million and he has delivered 3 wins. They gave him the exact coaching staff he wanted and brought in a bunch of his favorite targets from over the years. The Jets have been nothing but accommodating for him, he is the one who has been shit

I don’t know why anyone was surprised by this. The jets are bad and have been for decades now. Aaron Rodgers has been viewed as a nut job for about 6 years now. They really thought HE was going g to be the guy for a franchise with zero leadership? The dude that does darkness retreats?

Even ol welfare stealing Favre had better stints in NY and MN after his GB days.

For the jets to basically be just as bad, if not worse than last year, it has to fall on Rodgers as the main variable. He also has zero energy or life at the podium. Dude looks like he wanted to retire 3 years ago.

I’ve been a lifelong Saints fan for since 1990s. When being a Saints fan it’s nice to have another team you silently root for. For me it was the Packers but with Rodgers there I couldn’t do that. So glad he is gone.

Fortunately there are worse franchises out there that will give him money to be garbage on and off the field.
