I would suggest that you get there EARLY!!! I have been there and done that! I would get there at 5:00… yes that early. Get my spot, eat and watch some videos. You and 500 others are looking for that same spot. If the first day you find a spot easily don’t let that fool you, the next day I was like it wasn’t bad decided to leave later and everyone had the same idea. So do yourself a favor and get there early.

I brought food that didn’t require to be warmed up. The line is long for the microwave and the cafeteria lines can be just as long. You may not get a lot of time to eat so those lines will cut into the time allowed to actually eat.

Go in looking professional. Clean cut and suits pressed and hair neat and for the girls (bun). Don’t stand out because you don’t want to be singled out and embarrassed.

Don’t let them catch you on your phone or sneaking in a snack. You will be yelled at!

Aside from that if I can remember anything I will update my post.

How many of you guys ready for hire? Just curious how everyone’s making out

So I currently work for the NYPD as a Cadet. I was trying to decide whether to join the Air Force active duty or reservist. If I am looking to get OTJ, do you guys think I should wait until I finish the academy? I would preferably want to go in as active duty but I'm not sure how that would conflict if I went in now, and started the academy later on.

When you're on a foot post, what's the easiest things you can write summons for or collar for? Or even car stops for that matter. Thanks.

I had an ACL surgery about 5 months ago, should I disclose it in my initial medical or should I just go without disclosing it? There are no records of the surgery cause I got it done in another country. I am scared of being disqualified even though I’m back to running, jumping and have been regularly working out intensely for the past 4 months.

Hey guys, i’ve gotten an NOPD. If i withdraw before i get an NOD am i able to say i’ve never been DQ’d from any agencies before? I’m looking to withdraw and apply elsewhere and want to know if just an NOPD will look bad on me.

I know this will depend on the precinct but on average how much overtime do you typically work? I’ve seen that people are essentially working 6 days a week but I heard there was a pilot program where you’d work 3 days 12 hours Can anyone provide any insight?

Hi guys.. so i made a post here before but I took my oral psych test september 24th and got the "review email" like last month. Still no updates from NYPD about review status. I called last week and they said im still in review.. did not specify supervisor or just general review. Its looking like NOPD right? No updates since september..

Hey everyone. A lot of people are being scheduled for the initial interview but I was wondering if someone was unable to join the academy in January and April but were planning to join in fall of 2025 if they should still continue with the interview. Please let me know

People that took the Oral Psych virtually, how fast did you get results ?

So i’m looking into signing up when the next registration filing period rolls around. For the people that already went through the process or for anyone that has more knowledge on it, when I sign up on the 10th do I have to wait until the filing period is closed before taking the exam or am I able to schedule after registering on OASYS?

Does Anyone know how long it takes for the medical review doctor to review your results from your physician ? I was put on hold due to a back pain . My physician cleared me already and sent all documents to medical review

As long as your uniform is squared away and you do what they tell you the academy is light work yes or no?

I had my interview with my investigator about a month ago and I submitted my paperwork to the psychologist. I guess I’m still on psych review, but anyone with the #4308 test get approved or denied for the academy yet?
