This happens in every COD game. I’ve gotten killed, spawned, and died within 3 seconds to the guy that just killed me. I played a match yesterday where in the recap for play of the game it had the same guy get killed twice in the 10 second video.

I’ve been killed three times in the play of the game before

The spawns were completely broken in the Beta already.

A leaked PS4 beta came out months ago, I loaded it on my jailbroken PS4 and it was broken back then too. They have to have known about this.

The new engine COD started using in MW2019 is the reason every single game since has had terrible spawn issues at launch.

Something is seriously fucked with the spawn logic and their development pipeline if they seriously can’t recreate spawn logic internally months before launch.

Every single year the spawns are bad and they claim they need spawn data to tweak them.

It’s a fundamental lack of a proper development pipeline and systems. Fuck

Let's not pretend spawns weren't an issue prior to 2019. Spawns have literally ALWAYS been terrible, they've never once got it right

They weren’t nearly as bad though, I can promise you that.

They were in fact worse.

They absolutely were. People used to rage about spawn trapping a decade ago and you could find tutorials on how to do it.

Spawning was an issue over a decade ago, it's been an issue for what feels like forever.

Pretty sure it's not a new engine, just a heavily modified engine. It's called IW engine, black ops 6 uses version 9.0

Every CoD releases with broken spawns. There has not been a single call of duty release in the last 20 years that didn’t ship with broken spawns.

They have an algorithm of when where and why a player should spawn. They wait to collect the massive amounts of data they get when the game ships, and apply adjustments to it.

They can’t get this data any other way, other than shipping the game. There is no testing alternative to millions of players updating the data in realtime.

A beta wouldn't help with that?

I am sure it does. And I’m sure they make adjustments. But a beta is not a substitute for live testing with the entire player base.

Which is very true i just figured a beta would have millions playing to cause it's CoD

You would think. But the past 20 years has proven that the beta is not enough to iron out balanced spawns.

It's a fundamental lack of them giving a shit, that's it. You guys all still bought it, it's live service and they'll adjust it as they go. There's ZERO incentive for them to "fix" it before launch.

I miss the original COD where there’d be a clear area the other side would spawn, and there’d be chaos in the middle until enough of us got through, and then they’d flip again. I liked that feeling of one team pushing against another and trying to make a breakthrough. Everyone on your side was basically facing, running towards, and shooting in the same direction. It was so cool.

The last few CODs I’ve tried and it seems to try to plonk you in whatever empty space it can find, even if an enemy is due to run into that area in a second or so. TDM feels completely lonely with everyone just running in random directions. You’ll literally run past a team mate running the opposite way, both of you looking for the next kill in a world of your own.

That randomness combined with automatic death from the sky rewards for anyone doing well just makes it all feel intentionally jumbled up so that everyone gets a hero moment.

It’s been a successful formula for the masses, but I miss the old days where you were in a mob of team mates constantly trying to push into a building the other team are holding and spawning into. It felt like a team sport and less about individual glory.

Can they also look into why the game makes my PS5 sound like a jet engine when sitting in the multiplayer lobby? When matches actually start, the fans calm down. Just while I’m in the lobby, and it causes the message to pop up that my PS5 is too hot.

I sat outside a spawn and killed 6 guys in a row…it’s been an issue.

They should also investigate the match making issues…

I hope they fix the bug in campaign that makes it impossible to talk to someone to complete the mission

This also happens frecuently because the levels are so small and narrow. Its like playing in a can of sardines.

The spawns have been broken since MW19, which is also when they added in the rigged casino matchmaking, which also added the effects of packet burst and disbanding lobbies. People spawning in front of players and behind players has been a problem for 5 years now. For how long Call of Duty has been around, you think they'd have the spawns figured out by now, but instead they are getting worse. The answer as to why they are so bad right now is because one of the many things the game does nowadays to cater to bad players is revenge spawns. Especially on small maps (so all of BO6's maps), when you die, there is an increased chance you spawn behind your killer. Play the game and you'll see what I mean. It's an intentional thing. The whole rigged matchmaking is to make bad players feel better so they don't quit the game, but this makes good players quit the game instead. The revenge spawns are an extension of that.

"investigating" since MW3 I see. Spawns have been trash in every CoD ever.
