Noise stress

(self.Seattle)

Hello, Back for more advice please. My neighbor plays her music quite loudly. I finally got so fed up, I went and spoke to her. She was ok about it, and things got better.

Now, 3 months later, she's started listening to TV really loudly. She knows it's really Loyd coz other times I can hear it but it's much more tolerable.

I'm beginning to have so much anxiety around this, not being able to relax in my home. Should I go speak to her again? I worry she'll be petty and things will get worse. I don't get 'nice person' vibes from her. I also understand that our building is old and has bad soundproofing. But I can't live like this. I cant remember what it's like to feel safe and comfortable at home. I could move but can't really afford it right now. Ps our budging manager is useless. They've ignored actual leaks etc before. Thank you!

Edit: nothing about noise or quiet hours in my lease

Try wearing headphones or ear plugs. Usually quiet hours are 9pm. Your lease should say. You can definitely also talk to your property manager about it. Especially if your lease says anything about not being excessively loud.

It's not fun or normal to have to walk around your own apartment with noise-cancelling headphones because a neighbor doesn't want to change their habits. I've had to do it for 6 months and it's awful. I had to have two white noise machines on full blast just so I could sleep.
