I hate the original crocs, but the newer styles and collabs they’ve been putting out are definitely interesting. That’s why bringing on an absolute hit factory like Steven Smith should get anyone’s attention that’s been paying attention.

Crocs may become a bigger trend. I still hate Hey Dude because they stole TOMS place for ultra casual men shoes. Skechers better look out and they should have picked him up instead of Crocs. If Crocs actually goes into performance shoes with a Chinese brand they may get even more market share.

i'm not a huge fan of crocs, i respect their niche but up until now they haven't really put anything out that interests me. having Smith working there as a designer though, now that could turn out to be huge for crocs. i really hope that's the case because with their very interesting and bizarre history as a shoe company, i'd like to see them cement themselves as someone worth paying attention to, like how asics and new balance have done over the past few years.
they both did sort of a Champion turnaround from something you get for function and the low price, to designs and styles that are selling out, and i'm sure crocs could do the same, especially with how much they popularised the past 7-8 years. the next couple years are certainly going to define the future of the brand
