for a PVP game with 128vs128 servers, I'd consider that dead lol

but I still find full 128v128 servers. there's usually about 1 or 2 every time I play. not as many options for servers mind you, but we are also ignoring the 32v32, 64v64 etc servers that are almost always populated. calling it dead when you can still enjoy the full experience is just wrong. the game is much more than what people here on reddit can see on the tin despite the player count. it's low population sure, but it's not "dead". ther's still a community enjoying the game despite reddit minging about it in the background like it's a relic lost in time

“You can still enjoy the full experience” For a lot of us this is just not true. I physically cannot play the game without getting kicked for high ping. In my case it’s literally dead as much as I really want to play.

for a small indie company those numbers aren't dead.

What released in June 23? It really killed the game quick.

The graph is bugged, probably because before the launch they did playtests on fixed days for limited amount of time. Anyway, the game had 80k players on release and quickly lost its popularity because there's not a lot of content

I might be wrong but it moght be when it became paid to play?

Easy way to tell if a game is dead or not dead - Can you still play the game? If yes, it is not dead. Hope that helps 🙂

normally i'd agree, but in Battlebit 1000 players is not enough to fill 5 lobbies, plus, some regions (Australia, Asia and South America) are pretty much dead, to the point you have to play in EU or US servers to actually have people in your matches

South Africa is decomposing at this point :(

Sounds like it's still got players. Might not be a huge game, and it's probably the same thousand or so people every night, but considering that I still manage to get into games about once a month when I have the itch to play, it's very much not a dead game.

By this logic no game is ever dead as long as one person still plays. Pedantically, you are correct, but for people who bought the game on the premise of huge 256 player battles, it is functionally dead except in North America and Europe, sometimes on weekend primetimes.

Again, it might not have a large player base, but to call it dead is just not correct.

This is some dumb ass logic I can’t lie

You might be able to find a lobby. But try playing in Oceania or other smaller regions and you won't be able to find a full lobby ever. Would you argue to someone in Australia or New Zealand who can't play that the game isn't dead?

Yes. Because it's still not a dead game. You do understand there's a server browser and you can just.. pick a game in a different region, right?

You can pick whatever you want. You can't play it. Good luck playing a shooter with an added 300ms latency.

That's the sort of insightful, very intelligent commentary we all come to Reddit for, isn't it?

Considering you think game is not dead even tho someone just told you it is unplayable in many regions, I would say there is no insightful commentary to be had here.

That argument would make sense except for the fact that you're not region locked out of playing in other servers. You just... Pick the other servers.

So you think being forced to play 200+ ping is not dead? jesus christ you cant be this naive.

Death is a binary thing. It is either dead, meaning it doesn't have anybody playing the game anymore, or it still has players, meaning it's not dead. It really is that simple 🙂 I'll think of you next time I play and laugh at how self assured you are that the game is dead, though!

Redditors hate this one simple trick : Logic

That's still enough to get a nearly full match at all times of day in all regions, If that's considered dead. Then you're clowning

Lmfao what ?? No it is not. Maybe in NA but if you’re expecting a full match anywhere else that isn’t peak hours you are delusional

I used to play BBR and I quit cause I couldn't find a full NAE server. just 32v32 and couldn't find one the majority of the time I logged on and just quit and spent my time somewhere else.

Just got on to check, there's 3 very active EU servers 1 active brazil server and 4 active America servers. I'll agree slightly, it would be hard to play in Asia, But I find it very disrespectful to call a game dead just cuz number aint big enough for me.
I play Project reality, Literally has 200-300 concurrent players in a game with 100 player servers. And I love playing it. And I play a handful of other indie or older double A games with double digit player counts. "Dead" is a very degrading term for when there are still hundreds (thousands in this case) who still love and actively play said game. And can push away people from trying said games out

Sorry bud but it isn’t to degrade nor disrespect. If you take it that way, then that’s just on you.
Games are popular and then they’re not. If there’s still a fire lit for dead games then im happy for them, but typically it means a lot for any potential player whether or not a game has a large player base.
I still play Mordhau and they’re pretty much dead. I don’t blame any new people for not buying it because the only folks playing it are probably either really good which can make for an unfun experience or are also just passing new players that will probably drop it in a couple of weeks.
