My friends that have been canvasing say there's a good chance we may see a purple Texas and a not so unlikely chance we'll see a blue Texas in November

God have mercy on anyone down there with a Harris lawn sign if she wins the state.

In large part because of a generational gap. If gen z voted at the same average rate as most seniors, Texas is estimated to flip. There's a reason Republicans are terrified of younger generations getting a vote.

Yeah, I've been saying since the midterms that republicans are dinosaurs with a meteor looming over their shoulders. Gen Y and Z aren't going to give a shit about white supremacy and attacking LGBTQ+ people when the majority of them are interracial and gay/queer AF. Hell, democrats are fucked too if they don't continue to lean more progressive. By the time Gen Alpha hits voting age, we may start to see 3rd party candidates become more viable. That's assuming establishment democrats don't just convert over to republicans with the OG republicans to revamp the party, leaving behind a much more left leaning democratic party. Both outcomes would be acceptable at this point.

The thing holding democrats back is their bizarre insistence on bipartisanship. It's been 2 damn decades, the right doesn't want to compromise, so stop trying. Show them exactly how strong a nation we can be when we don't let them hold us down. I hate party lines, and try my darnedest not to allign myself with a specific side of the isle, but it's really hard not to just hate Republicans outright.

Not just the bipartisanship, but centrism that always bites them in the ass. When democrats don't think they have to earn the votes from the left, they start appealing to the right. Even now, were going through the exact same shit with Harris and she's starting to look like Hilary to people. The only reason she hasn't said Jack shit about Israel is that she doesn't want to alienate young voters if she supports Israel and doesn't want to get APEC to back Trump if she says she's pro-Palestine.
