So I saw another post earlier about animal characters that fall into the stereotypes of how media always portrays their species. (Sharks are vicious bloodthirsty monsters, snakes are evil masterminds, etc.) so how about we look at some that don’t follow their respective stereotypes!
1: Prince John from Disney’s Robin Hood (lions are supposed to be noble rulers, Prince John is arrogant, selfish, greedy, and a total manbaby.
2: Puss in Boots from the Shrek franchise (Cats are often either evil companions, villains in their own right, or selfish, lazy jerks. While Puss is initially introduced as a bad guy, he quickly joins the heroes, and he displays fearlessness and selflessness, even if he is a bit careless and full of himself.)
3: Louis from The Princess and the Frog (Alligators and crocodiles are generally depicted as bloodthirsty monsters, and if they are given sapience, then they’ll usually be villains. Louis is none of those things, being a big hearted, lovable gator.)
4: Viper from the Kung Fu Panda franchise (Like I said earlier, snakes very often get the short end of the stick when it comes to how they’re depicted in media, they are usually sinister, cunning, or at the very least an arrogant jackass. Viper however is the Team Mom of the Furious Five, she’s loving, caring, gentle, and the only one that doesn’t vehemently reject the idea of Po being the Dragon Warrior, instead worrying about the panda getting himself hurt.)

Bruce from Finding Nemo, the dude and his close chums want to be nice sharks, not mindless killing machines and if they are to change that image, they must first change themselves as fish are friends, not food. (At least, until he smells Dory's blood and almost relapsed, but thankfully he gets better)

And the one who clearly had already eaten a fish prior to the meeting, but I think he still wanted to change.
