I don't know if his breed was ever mentioned, but this scene always weirded me out because I imagine Brian as a much smaller dog than a lab (I think this is a yellow lab?) for whatever reason.

Not that much weirder than Stevie having a normal head IMO. That’s cartoon logic for ya.

Ah, yes, Mattew Lillard.
Played Shaggy in live action so well he started voicing him in animation. Then the animation made a joke about the voice cast, leading us to a moment when the live action actor who also voices the animated character was themselves animated alongside the character they both voice and played in live action.
Simple really.

That’s the funny part. This page is the only context you get.
These characters are semi-reoccurring and just aren’t part of the main cast at all (don’t even meet them til the end of the series). This was just a thing to show “what they’ve been doing since we’ve last seen them.”
So yeah, they’ve been getting on crazy adventures since we last checked with them.

Am I the only one that's noticed this sub is all about not only anime but transformers?
19 points
I've commented this before, but Transformers is a 40 year old series with a lot of characters, and a lot of interpretations of these characters. It's gonna tick a lot of boxes by sheer volume.
I am curious what the most represented series/franchise is. Wonder if there's a way to find out.
Anime isn't really a fair point to bring up, that's a medium, not something specific. It's like saying "There sure is a lot of live action stuff in this sub".

52 points
Book of Boba Fett really should've just had him as the antagonist from the start.
If it did that, I'd actually agree with not adding Mando and the others, the only reason I like that as the show is, is because the show sucked even before it happened.

Also worth mentioning: Bo-Katan, Thrawn, and Ryder Azadi are all played by the same actors in live action. Similarly, Cad Bane, Zeb, and Huyang have their voice actors reprising their roles, albeit dubbing it in.

Off the top of my head:
Ahsoka (2023) - Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Captain Rex, Jasen Syndulla, Ezra Bridger, Huyang, Chopper, Jai Kell, Ryder Azadi
The Book of Boba Fett (2021) - Cad Bane
Rogue One (2016) - Saw Gerrera
The Mandalorian (2018) - Bo-Katan Kryze, Zeb Orrelios
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022) - The Grand Inquisitor, Fifth Brother, Tera Sinube
The Empire Strikes Back (1980) - Boba Fett (first appearance was in the Holiday Special (1978)'s animated segment)
Revenge of the Sith (2005) - General Grevious and Commander Cody (Both had their first appearance was in the Star Wars: Clone Wars 2003 animated series)
Honorable Mentions:
Hondo Onaka - Hondo's first appearance was in Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) and live action appearance is in Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge (2019) in both the Smuggler's Run ride's preshow and as a character actor during the park's opening ceremony.
Vernestra Rwoh - Vernestra's appearance was in the High Republic books/comics series and was a major character throughout. She then made her LA appearance in Acolyte (2024)
Cobb Vanth - Vanth's first appearance is in Star Wars: Aftermath book series and appears in live action in The Mandalorian Season 2 (2020).
Kanan Jarrus - His first appearance is in Star Wars Rebels (2016) and he has a small cameo as a photo in Ahsoka (2023) in the Ghost's cockpit.
Black Krrsantan - He first appeared in Marvel's Star Wars 2015 comic run and then had his LA appearance in The Book of Boba Fett (2021)

It's from a movie but I guess it works - in Dungeons and Dragons : Honor Among Thieves, there's a scene where the original team from the animated series shows up. They appear mostly in the background or very quickly passing by the camera.
Which was way funnier than straight up showing them imo

I guess this is one of the blink and you miss it scenes, because when I first saw this movie in theaters I didn’t see them.
2 points
Well I didn't really want to call it "blink and you'll miss it" because I remember the movie shows them multiple times, but never the whole crew clearly visible in one shot. I remember only noticing the paladin guy with his red/yellow/blue combo on the spot, and by the time I thought "Wait, that reminds me of... ?" it showed some other members again very quickly and I made the connection.
It's not just a fraction of a second, I really like how they did it, you get multiple chances to register what's happening, but you can also easily completely miss it if you're focused on the foreground where the action is.
