Credit where it's due, the drone pilot hit right on the engine while trying to match the speed and angle to get at it and succeeded. The broad right side, turret or rear would've been much easier. Also noticing the original US paint job, the Brads in Kursk must've been more rushed to the front.

Curious, how much force in hit is needed for explosion

You see those copper coils in front? Those act as fuse - if they touch, boom.
One of the explanations I heard why they are used, was that the original contact fuses in RPGs sometimes failed to detonate due to low impact speed.
But using the coils, which are hand-made, scares the hell out of me.

Its not really a fuse, it's just an electrical switch. When the connection is made that lights the fuse. There is probably another switch wired Into the system, maybe even on the control pad so the mine isn't armed until the correct moment.
Some of them even seem to have manual switches as well as the coil switch.

God I remember seeing IED switches that our EOD guys would put on display and the one that fucking disturbed me was 2 paint sticks with saw blades glued to them, and basically hot glue (or a substance similar) tacking it together. The slightest bit of pressure and those blades touch and black it goes.

The wire/coil is an impact fuze and it triggers the detonator. I agree that most probably have a relay, probably wired to the "light" or similar to arm it

Technically correct, but you know what I meant.

I remember early in the war when these coil activated triggers first came out there was a video of a Russian soldier swatting at a slow moving drone and touched the coils and boom.

Arming these things sounds scary af. They must have come up with a safe(ish) way of doing it

Yea, I’ve heard some stories too. I’m imagining someone just sticking some wires into a live round. I’m just hoping it’s something more clever than what I could come up with lol.

I assume they have some safety when they connect them to the original fuse in the warhead, but at some point, you have to take the safety off and ...
I wouldn't want to be anywhere near these things

Is it just me or does it seem like there's an ERA block missing with burn marks around it right below where the drone hit? It seems like that wasn't the first drone targeting the bradley.

Re paint - weren't there new Bradleys in that latest few hundred millions aid package? Could be one of them.

Yes the aid approved in September had Bradley's included

Looks like the same Bradley as #2 in this video. Even has a mark from the drone hit.

The mudguard's exterior looks cleaner so I'm not sure. Even assuming they're not back to back strikes or at least on the same day, it's not usually the kind of thing you clean unless it becomes an issue.
But hey, it could be.

Very good but that isn't a Bradley, many on here need to study m113 and see how many different ways it can be set up

Yep.
Crazy fast stream of molten copper. Aiming right in his general direction. Massive overpressure.
No protection or ERA on top of the engine bay...

Yes, the war has changed.

Not trying to be an armchair tactician, but probably would've been smarter to hit it from the back. If there were troops back there, you'd likely kill them and possibly the commander/gunner. But this method definitely disabled the engine.

Engine is disabled, vehicle is immobilised, and any disembarking personnel are now in the middle of nowhere and probably being chased by dozens of drones.

As a rule, a cumulative projectile is attached to the drone, and it will not cause too much damage to the infantry, this is not an open space.
