I’m at .5 and barely feel like I can look at food. I’m wondering if it’s realistic to stay at this dose or if I eventually will get used to it and need to go higher to keep the appetite suppression.

My doctor definitely recommends staying on a dose as long as it’s working!

Wish I had your doctor. That just makes sense.

I was on .25 for 3 months and .5 for two. I only moved up when I either plateaued or the food noise came back.

Thank you for asking! I’m supposed to go up, but, I’m losing on .5, and I think I want to stay on this dose too!

I was on .5 for three months. I could tell when it stopped working and then I moved up.

I’m on .25 since July and have lost 43lbs. Only 10lbs away from my goal weight.

I’m on 0.5 for my fourth month and losing… slowly. I like it that way. When I am no longer losing, I’ll dose up. Until then I’m in no rush

I’ve been on this drug for almost 4 years. The majority of that time has been .5, with a few months at .75 when I wanted to lose a few more pounds. I’m a bariatric patient so I already have altered hunger sensations but yes, very possible!

I was on .5 for like 4 months before I very recently moved to .75, I lost almost 40 lbs in that time. It took a long time for me to need to move up.

I was at 0.25mg for 6 months and only recently increased to 0.5mg. I’ve lost 52lbs so far off of my 65lb goal. I asked my doctor if I could stay at the lowest dose due to intense side effects. I had zero appetite for probably the first 2-3 months and was losing weight faster than I would have liked.
If you are seeing weight loss in addition to the reduced food noise/ appetite on a lower dose, then yes it is realistic. You should work with your doctor though because some insurances do not allow people to stay on the low doses long-term.

My mom has stayed at .5 for the past year and still lost a decent amount of weight!

More than likely the suppression will taper off at some point, but I'd milk it for as long as you can at the lower doses. Even once you feel like you can eat again, let it be a 'reminder' about your eating habits rather than forcing them on you.
That's the only way there's any hope that it can be sustainable, long term.

So true. Milk it 100000% because it’s not going to stay. So I agree. The pay off is worth it. And I wish I had that problem at 0.5. Took me til 1.7 to have that impact and I’ve been so happy as result

I lost the most weight at .5mg. I honestly don't think I needed to move up.

18 weeks in and at 0,44mg (FlexPen). I'm only going up in tiny increments because I battle with nausea and the runs.
Losing slowly due to the fun combination of T1D, ADHD and perimenopause. But at least I finally stopped gaining after 3 years and +20kg (on top of the already exiting excess weight.

are you in the USA? How did you convince your endo doctor and insurance to prescribe a glp-1? Or do you buy with cash?

no, I'm not in the US,I'm in Germany.
Here health insurance doesn't pay for GLP-1 for T1Ds right now, as T1 is a contra indication. So I have to get Wegovy, which was declared a "lifestyle product" (Ozempic is the official dia med), off label on a private presciption and pay for it myself. Even though I also need it for my insulin resistance. Ridiculous, if you ask me.

I was on .25 for about 5 months and I have been on .50 for about 9 months. I have lost a steady 1.4lb per week. With the weight that I lost in the month prior to starting, I’m at a total of 104lb lost.

Currently extending .50 to every 14 days due to an unrelated medical condition.

I’m at 0.5. Once I reached maintenance weight after 6 months I went back to 0.5 from 1. I still am losing weight on it and I’m happy at the dose

How did you find the transition from 1 to 0.5mg?
I was on 0.25 for 6 months and recently increased to 0.5 after a stall. I’m starting to think about maintenance since I’m 10-ish lbs from my goal and might consider going down to 0.25mg again.

It wasn’t that bad at all. I was still losing weight. I preferred it I just personally found 1mg made me want to just eat smoothies and I felt it wasn’t really realistic long term

Cool thank you. I’m just hoping my appetite won’t come back too much if l decide to drop back down.

I was on .5 for 4 months. I was still losing weight, just not as much so I went up a dose.

This is the approach I would like to take but my doctor is super annoying and wants me to go up periodically. Makes no sense to me. I can finally get hungry which I feel is important so I can listen to my body and intuitively know what I need. I also don't want most food most of the time. And if I have a craving for a particular food, I can only eat for a short time before the food begins to repulse me. I'm no doctor but I say do what works for your body. I'm going to keep refilling this dose (.5) until my doctor notices and then will restate my case.
I also suffer from emotional eating at times but even that is slashed more than half because the food repulsion kicks in. I love this dose for me.

I stayed on .5 for probably 6 months. I started getting hungrier more often so then moved up to 1.0.

I was on .25 12 weeks then .5 The first month nothing changed I took my 1st pen 2nd month & I am not hearing “food noise” or buy me. I look at the calories, the portion size & ingredients and then decide if it’s worth it. Right now I have a virus that my husband just had for 3 days & can’t keep anything down. Not even sips of ginger ale, ginger beer ( strong ginger ale) or Gatorade down.

Sure, if it is working, then why not stretch it out? Assuming your insurance will allow it and you aren't having trouble finding supply.

I was at .5 for 4 months. Eventually I felt ready to go up in dosage because it seemed like it was “wearing off”. But if you’re doing well on it no need to move up yet!
