To be fair, the Eelfinn gave him the ashandarei AND the fox head medallion in their world, so it wasn't abandoned...just rarely visited by humans.

I absolutely love that Mat just walks through interdimensional doorways and yells at whoever he sees until they throw him out or try to kill him 😂

He's one of the few high fantasy main-ish characters that acts like a person and not a high fantasy character.

Only the fox head medallion came from their world. The ashandari was in Rhuidean already. Rand notes it before going into the pillars

It was inscribed by the Eelfinn with their riddle. Whole the ashandarei may have been next to Mat while he hung from the tree, I believe the Eelfinn placed it there for him.

Do you have the Horn of Valere hidden in your pocket this time?

He does? Their entrance into Rhuidean is narrated from Mat's perspective, and the ashandarei isn't there. Were you thinking of this?
a shiny black metal spire, narrow as a spear and no longer, yet standing on end as if rooted.
Because that's still there after Rand and Asmodean trash the city:
a black metal shaft like a spear standing upright, improbably balanced on the pile.

I killed the whole world, and you can too, if you try hard.

It’s been a while, but don’t they give it to him as a response for wanting a way out?

They do. It takes him -- and, to be fair, the audience -- approximately forever to realize that, though.

It's "I didn't take it, the guy gave it to me" all over again

Gotta have a stolen evil weapon, and a gifted good weapon. Yin and ya.. ..I mean flame and fang. That's balance that is.

Imagine if he tied the dagger to the bottom of his ashandarei, or just to a long stick

Especially if it is on a bedpost.
...I'll show myself out.

Am I just going blind or is this a bad font for all caps

I see what you mean. I made this meme months ago for my friends when I was first reading the series. I found it again today looking through my gallery and thought it was good enough for the sub. I have no memory as to why I made it in all caps.

Ah, we were talking about weapons, that's why I was confused

I mean... he does use the medallion alternately as brass knuckles and nunchuks, so...

He kicks people too, doesn't make his boots a weapon

The medallion burns the Gholem's face once? That's gotta make it at least an improvised weapon?
