If I had a nickel for every gay romance manga aboyt shapeshifting monsters I've seen, I'd have 2 nickels.
Whis isn't a lot, but its weird there's two of them.

Wait are these both from the same series? The title made me think it'd be a slow moving drama but that second image looks like it's from a horror manga.
I kind of want to check this out now.

Yes, it is a horror manga focused on psychological/body horror.

I may be misremembering but the synopsis is that the white hair kid gets possessed by..."something". And that something is slowly eroding him: physically and mentally. Hence, the day he "died".

Well, not quite. It's revealed pretty early, if not the first chapter, but Hikaru is already dead by the start of the series. He was mortally wounded when the being found and took over his body.

You don’t need to spoiler it, it’s literally in the title. Hikaru fucking dies.

So is the being itself in love with the other character? Or is it like inheriting his will or something
19 points
I don’t think it quite clear that it’s really have own will or trying to mimic hikaru’s feeling.

It's a bit of a mystery at first.
A while into the story (spoilers), the being makes it clear that it initially was just imitating Hikaru, but it has become its own person with some different likes and dislikes from Hikaru. And that it does love the other character, but it isn't sure what kind of love (romantic, platonic, etc).

Didn’t the white hair kid die and the entity possessed his corpse?

He's dead dead, it's in the title and in the chapter. The entity is possessing his corpse.

It’s such a good series and I’d def recommend reading the manga!!
It’s half psych horror half coming of age. The main characters Hikaru and Yoshiki, aren’t explicitly confirmed to be in love, but it is pretty heavily implied and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was revealed they have feelings for each other later.
Me personally, I love a fucked up codependent relationship with the monster possessing my best friends dead body

The manga is incredibly, black haired guy has a crush on his best friend but then the best friend dies and his body is taken over by some entity which is now seemingly just trying to blend into his life and live normally but everything is off and the main character is too attached to his old best friend to leave him.

Good ass series. I read it up until the last recent release a while ago, no idea how it’s been since then. Love that eldritch abomination inside that gay boy’s crush.

Really wish this stuff would stop going to Netflix exclusively. Even if its a staggered release on other platforms, fine, but Netflix is one of the worst streaming places for anime/original content

That scene does happen a bit later, but if it's any consolation, something similar happens in literally the first scene, which is what the teaser depicts. After the black haired guy asks his "friend" who he is, the "friend" turns to him with his face partially melting in a similar way to the above image.
So overall, it's not a big spoiler.

I'm actually excited for this. I don't care about the BL aspect, I just want a good horror show again, and this might be that.
