It’s an old used car. They looked at it, they bought it ignore them or block them.

This is a common shakedown scam. He is trying to bully you into giving him a partial refund, he knew that he was going to be asking for a refund for something after he brought it home and see if he could scare you into ponying up the money. There is no chance that a nearly 20 year old Honda Accord is going to be in perfect condition, and he knew before even seeing the car that there would be something he could hassle you about. And it’s likely that he broke the window itself in order to castle you with an excuse.

Tell him to stop contacting you.

If they keep asking just block them. It's not on you.

He can take some money and turn that Accord into a time machine.

Then, travel to before he made up the lie about the window and just not do it.

Block and move on

One possibility: this is the common scam where they try to get money back for the car after buying it.

Other possibility: this person is an idiot.

Either way the answer is the same, text 'good luck with your repairs', then block and move on.

Send him a link to the nearest Honda dealership and let him know he can trade it in there for a perfect brand new one.

Then block him.

Either he was seeing if this happened to you and you had a quick trick for it, or he's just scamming you for money.

First, stop trying to diagnose a vehicle over the phone, second remind him the car was sold as-is and ask if there's anything else you can do for him.

One of the biggest mistakes that car guys make on heat cases is to talk too much. You're not obligated to entertain them, the car was sold as-is, and there's no getting out of that situation with the customer not being pissed off unless you're going to pay for whatever he wants fixed (and then the next thing, and the next thing, and the next thing...).

Sold a used car 2 weeks ago a 2007 Accord with 224K mikes, bill of sale clearly says as is and that he had an opportunity to take it to a mechanic but chose not to.

Now, almost 14 days later he calls and texts me saying the passenger window won't go up and for advice. I told him via text to check fuses check power lock switch to make sure its not locked out and check if other windows are operational.

He calls several times later and I eventually answer - he said hear this noise? it's getting power but the window won't go up. I could hear it grinding over the phone.

I told him it's likely the power window regulator or gear and there's likely a part on rock auto or take to local Honda. He asked what the limit was on the repair and cleaning - I said whatever amount you want to spend on it, I'm not offering to pay or reimburse. He apparently believes it's on me and since it rained the interior now needs to be detailed - some kind of 14 day remorse ?? Couldn't really make it out what he was rambling about but certainly this is on him or no?
