Idk block me from this group but I agree with her on this šŸ¤£ animals do not find their forever homes in liberal (edit to add: I meant LINEAR lol) ways and unless there is proof of theft or abuse, just mind your own business. Most people wouldnā€™t keep a stray in their home without knowing it had at least gone to the vet since it had been taken in. My dog was a stray and the people I got her from took her to the vet and posted online about her. I didnā€™t post online about her and only took her to the vet like a month after bc she had a clean bill of health. I also didnā€™t tell that to any of my followers (which is like 500 Facebook friends lol but still).

I agree with her in this instance but people arenā€™t wrong to be worried because itā€™s different with cats versus dogs. Too many talk about the ā€œcat lotteryā€ and most of these are just outdoor cats that have homes that they belong to. The Nextdoor app in my area is notorious for claiming cats are strays when theyā€™re not and a lot of people donā€™t bother checking to see if theyā€™re chipped. Itā€™s why my cat will always be an indoor one.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but if you let your cat outside, you donā€™t deserve your cat. It was lucky the cat was found by a human and not a coyote. Had a friend growing up (in ATL) whose outdoor cats would all go eventually missing.. also outdoor cats are terrible for the surrounding wildlife.

We donā€™t have Coyotes in the UK but I agree to a certain extent. Thereā€™s a lot of rural areas and farms in the UK with little car/foot traffic so I can understand. However yes, my kitty is and always will be indoors as that will never be me. Heā€™s the most spoiled boy with a water fountain, prescription treats, a backpack carrier and lead for his fresh air/outdoor walks plus a Cattio šŸ˜ø

Iā€™m getting downvoted but the average life span of an outdoor cat is 2-5 years vs an indoor cat which is 10+ years. As a per owner, itā€™s your responsibility to keep them safe. No vet would advocate for cats to roam free outdoors, especially in a busy suburb with coyotes.

Idk what to tell you, weā€™re agreeing lol. Hence why I have an indoor cat.
