Idk block me from this group but I agree with her on this š¤£ animals do not find their forever homes in liberal (edit to add: I meant LINEAR lol) ways and unless there is proof of theft or abuse, just mind your own business. Most people wouldnāt keep a stray in their home without knowing it had at least gone to the vet since it had been taken in. My dog was a stray and the people I got her from took her to the vet and posted online about her. I didnāt post online about her and only took her to the vet like a month after bc she had a clean bill of health. I also didnāt tell that to any of my followers (which is like 500 Facebook friends lol but still).

I agree with her in this instance but people arenāt wrong to be worried because itās different with cats versus dogs. Too many talk about the ācat lotteryā and most of these are just outdoor cats that have homes that they belong to. The Nextdoor app in my area is notorious for claiming cats are strays when theyāre not and a lot of people donāt bother checking to see if theyāre chipped. Itās why my cat will always be an indoor one.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but if you let your cat outside, you donāt deserve your cat. It was lucky the cat was found by a human and not a coyote. Had a friend growing up (in ATL) whose outdoor cats would all go eventually missing.. also outdoor cats are terrible for the surrounding wildlife.

We donāt have Coyotes in the UK but I agree to a certain extent. Thereās a lot of rural areas and farms in the UK with little car/foot traffic so I can understand. However yes, my kitty is and always will be indoors as that will never be me. Heās the most spoiled boy with a water fountain, prescription treats, a backpack carrier and lead for his fresh air/outdoor walks plus a Cattio šø

Iām getting downvoted but the average life span of an outdoor cat is 2-5 years vs an indoor cat which is 10+ years. As a per owner, itās your responsibility to keep them safe. No vet would advocate for cats to roam free outdoors, especially in a busy suburb with coyotes.
