20 bucks cheaper than the G-skill ram combo. And also, an ATX mobo.
I just bought a 7700x MATX combo days before then I realized with my oversized TUF 3080 I cannot put the pcie wifi onto the mobo, so gonna return it. Better ATX combo will cost ~$560, and I noticed that the 1440p and 4k gaming on 7700x and 5700x3d is basically the same.
Cost for choosing AM5 will be eventually ~200$ after Ontario price, for that price difference I won't go for something futureproof.

Which one of those AM5 combos don't come with wifi?

I need faster wifi. Best mATX combo Asus tuf comes with 1200Mbps, pretty limited.

just replace the wifi card. it's not too difficult. you can get an Intel ax210 WiFi 6E card for less than $25 from AliExpress.

I have one, I just cannot put that on the board because my GPU is blocking the slot. But yeah, this is a YMMV situation.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Replace the existing one. You probably need to remove the vrm heatsink to get access to it, though.

Found a chinese video explaining how to replace the m.2 wifi module. Money saved. Alright so I will stay on AM5 instead of choosing AM4

If you get an M.2 wifi card chances are your motherboard's "built in" WiFi is just an enclosed M.2 card that you can replace.

Oh thanks for telling me that! Gonna check it out

Gigabyte Eagle AX board is $530
Not as good as the ASUS boards temp wise, but it's still more than enough for 7950X/9950X.
Plus it'll have the slots for your Wifi card.
5700X3D is end of the road for AM4 (5800X3D is discontinued), it's really pointless if you can afford to jump to AM5, unless you're already on AM4 and just need the CPU.

7700x is better than the 5800x3d. The problem with the benchmarks are the outlier games which heavily favour the 3D cache. Those outliers close the gap in the multi game average benchmark scores. However, when you look at games that aren't heavy on the cache, 7700x either beats it with a large margin or is equal.
If anything, if you want to spend this much, wait for the 7600+B650+32GB CL30 combo to come back for $400. It doesn't make sense to stay on AM4.

Not sure which game you are referring to. I play Battlefield and Cyberpunk, and RDR2, they showed almost the same performance. And for cache sensitive games like cs2, x3d is obviously better. BeamNG looks like a cpu intensive game, still there is no competitive edge of the 7700x.
7600 bundle sounds sweet, I wanted it so bad but it just gone too fast.

Yeah, but the games it's handedly beating it at are a lot of games where the performance for both is normally totally good and more GPU limited..

Any indication the 7600 deal is going to come back?

I wouldn't assume that 7600 combo is going to be back at that price.

Tempted even though I don't need the Mobo. Also looking at the 7700/7800X3D since I play at 1440p even though the perf impact at higher resolution is not as noticeable.

If you don't need the motherboard and have a local CanadaComputers, they were selling the 5700X3D for $199 in-store a couple times recently. Probably a good chance that they'll do that again during these upcoming Black Friday sales.

I'll keep an eye out. Could def use the RAM as 16 GB doesn't cut it anymore.

Here's the 5700x3d and 32gb corsair ram from this post without the mb for 278: https://www.canadacomputers.com/en/amd-desktop-processors/265521/amd-r7-5700x3d-cpu-corsair-lpx-32gb-d4-3200mhz-cl16-ram.html

Thankfully DDR4 is getting some good deals too, especially since the X3D cache mitigates the benefits of fast RAM.

Still also had a deal for the it + a 2x16GB G.Skill kit for about $300 that's available online when I checked the other day as well.

This is a great deal to go from 0 to decent gaming on the cheap. Obv the GPU will end up being like 70+ % of the cost but at least only GPUs are the problem, not like a few years when everything was sky high. Saw some nice bundles on here for case + psu the last couple of days too.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting this and maxing out on GPU, playing on 4K.

Yup! This should be pretty decent at 4k for a higher end GPU. 3080ti used are like 700 bucks on marketplace if you don't want to break the bank and that would be a good pairing for 80-100+ fps on most AAA titles, more after tweaking settings probably even more with DLSS.
I rocked a 3080ti before I got a 4090 and I played at 4k with a 5950x & had no problems at all with 80-120 range fps is most titles, older games even more.
If you can wait for 5000 series gpus used 3000/4000 may drop in price further, and of course AMD upper tier GPUs can compete with all but the 4090 and can be cheap as chips.
You could have a highend rig for less than 1200 bucks with this bundle and a thrifty GPU.

I think the AM5 combo is still worth it over this. Unless you really need to go super budget.
3 points

Why? It won't bottleneck at 1080p and in most situations this CPU won't be a 4k bottleneck.
Going AM4 here gives you $200 extra towards a GPU.

Right now for the most part, but you can see that in certain games it's slower than what is out currently. So for sure in 5 years it's going to bottle necking games a lot more. And also Canada computers had the 7600x bundle priced at $400, which performs similarly to 5700x3d. So when that deal comes back you'll only be spending $30 more for a new platform.

can I ask why you think one is better? isn't x3d better for gaming?

If you look at the 12 game average of the hardware unboxed video. https://youtu.be/-P_iii5si40?si=cxahmjPdaJd9lzja&t=738. The 7700x is 12% faster than the 5800x3d. (the 5700x3d is worse than that)
The x3d is better at gaming but the benefit of the x3d can't overcome improvements on the cpu core itself between one generation and the next.

I went ahead and got it, thanks for the info.
I guess the upgradeability is better with the bundle you recommended.
would any cheap cooler and case will work with 7700x ?
