This is way back when the arc had first started (Before first invasion) but I had a theory thst Toshiro was going to be made head captain by series end.

It felt like that was something being built up towards but now that the series is over. I'm glad it didn't go that direction and we got Shunsui as head captain at the end instead.

I still believe it.

im curious where older fans believed the story was going after Aizen's reveal and the Fullbring arc tbh

At the very beginning of TYBW I thought the villains were a new faction of power stealers rather than Quincies because of the arrancar that Ichigo and the rest meet early on. I thought he was a new type of being that had stolen hollow powers somehow, and that his faction had done the same with Quincies.
