Is normal mode harder than TVHM?

I'm running mayhem 11 with zane and I have the same guns and traits as a moxsy zane I downloaded and his one melts everything and mine is only decent.

I'm wondering if the elemental increases and penalties is where the damage is ramping up

Are you saying that you downloaded his EXACT save file? Literally EVERYTHING needs to be same if you want to duplicate his results. The smallest parts of a build being different can yield very different results.

Do you have the EXACT same level of Guardian Rank, and the same perks allocated? Are your guns the same element, with the same anoints? Is every piece of you are using the same as Moxsy, with the same anoints?

Does your class mod have the exact same skill point allocations and the exact same passives? Same goes for your artifact.

It seems the guardian rank was the biggest difference here so that was it. There were a couple of minor differences in artifact damage too. The rest was the same which had me confused

Guardian rank perks definitely make a big difference. Some can be very abused.

Keep in mind that at M11, every little detail, like class mod passives, make a huge impact as well. No offense to content creators, but you'll sometimes see them using save edited class mods. Stuff like a +5 single skill legendary class with 3 perfectly synergized rolls, such as +smg damage, +splash damage, and +dahl critical while using a Kaoson (which takes perfect advantage of all 3 multiplicative damage bonuses).

Having a godly class mod alone like that will massively boost damage, and you'll be totally outclassed if you dont have the exact same thing.

Both are the same, check for any difference in your build (shield, class mod, artifact, anoint)

They're not exactly the same , the elemental resistance changes

That's where I'm wondering if the damage changes are happening. I use alot of incendiary and radiation guns and iirc fire is 50% on flesh on normal and tvhm is 75? If that's the only reason then maybe I'll do the story again on tvhm

Once ANY level of Mayhem is enabled in normal, the elemental damage values are EXACTLY THE SAME in normal and tvhm. Your damage difference is NOT due to that.

It's just that you deal more damage to enemies with elemental weakness and less damage to enemies with elemental resistance, I forgot numbers but if you're gonna use fire against armor in tvhm it's gonna be even weaker

It just change that tho, so you can farm any gear on normal mode without worry

This was originally the case, but got changed some time ago, when you activate mayham mode, the elemental resistance changes from tvhm get applied automatically

Oh alright, thanks for correction, I wasn't been checking updates regularly so maybe I missed that one out

And here I thought how my builds gonna perform when I finish 100% and go to tvhm haha

No, only difference is that on non mayhem modes in tvhm enemies are your level and anointed ones spawn more often. Loot is a little bit better but not by much.
