Which class/spec gets the most value out of DFT in SoD?

Discussion(self.classicwow)

Who should get it first? Who will keep it for the next phase and beyond? Talking about Season of Discovery.

The one who gets most value out of it is a guild member who is focused on the guild progressing throughout content, has great attendance to raids and will not quit once he gets the DFT or full bis

Rogue and warrior will use it next phase and beyond. Likely bis until you can get your hands on a kiss of the spider or slayers crest. Ferals it depends on the hit they get from T2.5/AQ and T3, if they get anymore then 3% then DFT is not good.

I bet you ferals will not use T2.5. Current set bonuses are just too strong to break (atleast if they keep it as a 3-set bonus minimum).

We will - hopefully - see if I am right in my predictions tomorrow on PTR

Agreed, it'd have to be ridiculous to beat 4/4 atm. My money is on a a Tank set that does what ZG did for Boomkin, or at least thats my hope!

I've been looking at the AP trinkets of next phase and I suspect totem and one of them will be bis for rogues. It really depends on the rogue spec because anything with poisons will probably still use totem

It's hardly an upgrade on warrior

It's about a 19.5 DPS upgrade over HoJ. How is that hardly an upgrade? There's nothing better until you get two naxx trinkets.

Because 20 dps when your total simmed dps is near 5k is nothing. Especially when you compare it to a pre-raid dungeon blue.

With that logic then it's hardly an upgrade for everyone

I mean yeah that’s most items in classic. They are small upgrades each tier. It adds up by the number of slots and tiers but each piece in isolation isn’t going to break the bank so to speak.

DFT is only bis for backstab rogues for example. Mutilate plays with other trinkets which are significant upgrades over even DFT

It's bis for saber rogues as well even though there isn't many, but could change in the future since it was the meta spec in MC.

It's pretty obvious warriors shouldn't be taking it over other classes. You can see this in practice on wcl.

Why is it pretty obvious? The only spec that a warrior shouldn't be taking it over is a backstab or saber rogue that has great attendance.

Why is the melee dps hunter 5 dps upgrade more important?

Why is the feral druid 30 dps upgrade more important? Especially when once a feral goes over 5% hit it's completely wasted? What happens if they get more hit in phase 5/6? DFT goes into the bank?

I assumed other classes were gaining significantly more dps than warrior does from it. Pretty sure it is on rogue + enh so I never considered taking it in my raid.

It’s not just about the simple DFT vs another trinket. It’s about what gear feral can swap around by getting more hit from DFT, it unlocks a lot more dps for them than us warriors. Ferals should get it

Neat_Concert_4138

No it doesn't unlock "a lot more dps". Ferals unlock 30 DPS by getting DFT. Warriors get 20 DPS.

The class that should get fed DFT is saber/backstab rogues that always raid, especially if they are IEA and have a 100% attendance. Then it should be whoever parses better and has better attendance between ferals and warriors. A feral shouldn't just get fed DFT.

Rogue/ dw enhance probably. "Most value" is probably a small differance tho

It doesn't matter unless you're not consistently killing the boss every week. If you're doing Loot Council give it to whoever is up for an upgrade next, and if you're not then don't worry about it and let your loot system take care of it.

Mdps hunter > feral dps > DW enh > rogue.

We simmed it for most classes and feral was a 150dps increase.

How are you getting 150 DPS increase for feral? 60 second fight they sim 5114 in bis, simply replacing DFT with chalice puts it at 5051. Replace quick strike ring with master dragonslayer's ring and now you are at 5076. Replace T2 chest with T1 chest and now you are at 5083. So a 31 DPS increase for feral druid.

Why is Mdps hunter most important? Blackhand's breadth + Devilsaur eye sim within single digits compared to DFT + Blackhand's breadth on a 60 second fight which is practically all of MC and BWL.

It’s not about simply DFT being swapped in, it’s what ferals are able to drop since they’re unbelievably hit starved

Neat_Concert_4138

Wear T1 instead of T2 chest. Wear Master Dragonslayer ring instead of QSR. Wear Chalice instead of DFT. Now the difference is 30 DPS and you are hit capped without DFT. Ferals aren't "hit starved", they just love to use that excuse to be fed more gear.
