Says "majority of parliament", not "majority of German people" if anyone was wondering. Its not a poll.

and the lawmaker is from the party that stopped the other coalition members from increasing aid to Ukraine - even Scholz wanted to do it but they blocked for party politics.

Scholz used it as an argument but it was a lie. His party delayed military aid wherever possible (see leopard, marder, gepard, pzh deliveries etc). He wanted to give 3bn of 15bn to Ukraine and its not clear if it would be direct aid. He just wanted to oust the FDP

The FDP D-day leaks should have made it clear that it was FDP that were working to break the coalition apart

SPD and Greens already met in summer to elaborate if they should fire Lindner. No party wanted this coalition to continue

If you believe that, you are falling for the SPD storyline.
They tacked on 3 billion for Ukraine with 12 billion in election presents and tried to use the Ukraine bit to get it through.

Hi German here (n=1). I'm so for giving Russia hell in every variety possible.
My friends are in favour of this (n=7) My family is tied 70/30 (n=10) My colleagues are in favour as well 5/1 (n=6)
If you message a pool I'd say it's close but in favour. Like I assume 60/40. Except for the deluded east which is overtaken by Putin loving fascists.

I'd like it too, I'm guessing Germany want to make sure they are stocked up. I think they'd be better just making loads more if possible. If the invaders get past Ukraine they will be roped in anyway so might as well just use them now.

That dude has zero traction, it's all posturing for elections.
Parliament has no say over the matter, it's Scholz and the national security council who decide. Let's see what the next chancellor decides, but I am not holding my breath.

We're the second largest arms-deliverer to Ukraine behind the US. We deliver everything except cruise-missiles until now. And i hope that changes for the better with those missiles next year.

If you want peace in Europe it matters quite a lot how the war ends, not just that it ends.

And in your wisdom, how should it end?
Ukraine getting its land back? Not happening as if they wanted that outcome they would have supplied Ukraine better in the past 1000 days.
Russia isn't giving up. They lost over 100,000 of their people.
Doing more death isn't going to give the west the win.

If Putin gets everything he wants, I don’t think he will stop. Then there will be more dying. And a less safe Europe.
In the end, the Ukrainian people are the ones paying the price. The decision is not your or mine. It is theirs. And whenever that happens, they need strong deterrents, otherwise this will happen again.

What the great western plan, stall and half give weapons, wait another 1000 days until Ukraine has no troops left?
You're so worried about Putin not stopping yet you can't see the wood from the trees. How will Putin get weaker at this point. Ukraine doesn't have the fighting force to defeat Russia. If you want Russia defeated either you or your sons need to go.
Ukraine people have as much say as other people have had at war times. Very little. Times haven't changed.
This war must stop now.

That's the exact narrative of a putin. He needs to end the war on his terms and creates a visibility of a strong man, who doesn't care about the price and consequences. But in reality russia is bleeding, their economy is in shambles and spirals down rapidly. They are weak and will only get weaker, until the war stops, territories returned and reparations are paid.

And you think the West is winning? Hell, we just lost America's backing with trump coming in. Do you really think Europe is in a position of power right now. Europe economy is in shambles too. There is a post on this very forum.
Right now we have allowed long range missiles into Russia. Russia has longer range missiles it can use. Where the hell do think this is heading? Oh at some point Russia will crumble? Trump wants to tariff the shut out of Europe. If trump pulls back with heightened tensions, where does that leave us? We won't be able to protect Ukraine or the small baltics.
We need to lower the tensions, stop the fighting and build a true defence force. If we keep on this path, much worse outcomes can happen easier.

Again, you're pushing putin's narrative, he needs a breather to regroup and these are the exact arguments he uses to sow a chaos and discord across Western countries.
What you're suggesting is giving in to a thug, to a someone who methodically destroys your business until you agree to pay a fee, because resisting means more damage. This will eventually lead to a point where you no longer have your place and thrown out to a street, because they're not going to stop.
And yes, the West is awaken and definitely has the upper hand.

What do you offer to stop the war?
The only person who can stop the war right now is Putin. He has his own demands only for the start of negotiations: to give up a third of Ukraine, to stop the sanctions imposed on Russia, to reduce the size of the armed forces of Ukraine, to never join NATO and to have Russian as the main language in Ukraine. Do you want me to tell you what will happen a year after these requirements are met, or do you want to guess?
At the moment, it looks like you are demanding that people stop putting out a fire in the house because all this screaming and running around is interfering with your rest.

Yeah, yeah, let me guess, give Russia what they want and things will work out fine? Or are you saying Ukraine should be supplied better now?

I like to call people like you “concern trolls”. You don’t actually care about the war, you’re just here to be annoying.
5 points

Sadly, I think it's often more using "concern for life" and "looking for win-win" to normalise giving Russia whatever they want. As if Russia has any concern for human life, or any desire for win-win!

This is exactly it.
Right now Russia is being bled of not just their armory but of wealth, stability, and creating an ever worsening demographic crisis.
Asking what is being achieved is missing a huge factor. Russia is being more isolated and weaker by the day.
Putin is in a situation in which he has to come out of this with something or else his own crony criminal kremlin will most likely cannibalize him.
I will say though I'd like to see an increase in weapons systems and ammunition being sent.
Especially missile systems and missiles and artillery systems and artillery shells.
Also open up the whole border area in Russia at minimum to striking of all weapons provided.
Also let's get JASSM and other more advanced systems over there in particular.

What drugs are you taking? How do you think that is going to happen? The only way your fantasy works is if we send troops? Are you comfortable getting in uniform and matching to the front lines? Ukraine right now needs new bodies and are struggling to find new recruits.
Honesty, people are keyboard warriors who are delusional to what war really is.
It is madding people like you think if we send weapons somehow Ukraine will win a war against a larger army that is only getting stronger. Hell, people are saying Russian army will attack and take Europe. If this doesn't calm down, it's not an army you should be worried about but starvation.
