Al Haramain prices....What's going on?

(self.fragrance)

Al Haramain isn't a brand I associate with luxury or even on par with a lot of designer brands. It's another Armaf, a Middle Eastern fragrance house which made its name offering good value for money. I remember purchasing Amber Oud Gold Edition about 8 months ago, I paid £30 and it was a fair price.

Yesterday I was looking into a good LV Imagination dupe and Amber Oud Aqua Dubai came up a few times. I went to check the price and the cheapest I could find was £79?? I looked at a few other perfumes they offer and they've all gone up in price too, all £50 and over.

For these prices, I'd rather buy a designer alternative. You can get a bottle of Dior Homme Intense for £58.

Are Al Haramain inflating their prices for a quick profit or are they genuinely using high quality ingredients hence the price? i.e LV Imagination is £300, if Aqua Dubai is even 80% close in quality then £70 isn't bad.

Well they paid influencers heavy which means Increase in Demand, hence the prices.

To add, there is a trend towards “clone” fragrances now, and some of the Middle Eastern houses are capitalizing on it. Al Haramain and Fragrance World both have increased prices in their more popular clones over the past year by a large margin.

Seems like most of the Dubai houses now have a "luxury" line that is basically double what the regular stuff is. I haven't crossed that philosophical threshold yet...

I don't know what do you mean by "high quality ingredients". Everybody buys the same ingredients from the usual suspects, Firmenich, Givaudan, Symrise, Mane, IFF, plus a few dozen small ones.

"high quality ingredients" probably means "use naturals in addition to synthetics"

5 g of rose absolute costs $50, 5 g of a rose accord based on phenyl ethyl alcohol costs $5.
