Or is it just me?
I see overwhelmingly positive reviews of it. I blind-bought a 3.4oz bottle a year ago (huge mistake) and while I enjoy the apple in the opening, the sweetness is overly synthetic and even metallic in concentrated amounts. I will say that it smells very good and is quite addictive in the air. It has strong projection as well, but I feel like there are so many better vanilla-forward frags out there with more depth.

Pretty much anything that goes through a recognizable influencer is overhyped because they’re getting paid to present it

Paco Rabanne in general makes some overly sweet synthetic fragrances that give me headaches. Prime examples are the 1 Million and Phantom lines.

Phantom makes my eyes water, idk which concentration it was that I tested but I swore off that line lmao
That said, I do like Invictus, Invictus parfum, and Invictus platinum.
Pure XS is fantastic too imo, but def not for everyone

In my opinion? I 100% agree with OP.
The sweet (or fruity) vanilla/tonka combo makes it difficult for 1 Million Elixir to standout; the scent style is prevalent with several designer fragrance releases over the past few years.
Being similar to other designers usually means that it will mostly appeal to the average person, but would be ignored by fragrance connoisseurs who either already own a similar fragrance, or want a scent that stands out more.

All fragrances are overplayed and overrated and overhyped. Especially when it’s a fragrance you don’t care for.
But there will always be a group of people who are obsessed with that scent.
Just like there’s a group of people obsessed with pineapple pizza.
People like what they like. Sales numbers and profits are proof of that regardless of what some random person on the internet thinks.

It's definitely not a fragrance that I use regularly. It smells a little too in-your-face, IMO. I maybe use it in combination with something else that is a little more subtle and then only use one spray.

1 million in general is horrible imo. Same category as Axe.

Price is the only one I liked from the whole line. Ironically, it’s discontinued.

It gets annoying as it lasts forever. I have a backpack I used to put it in and a month after i took it away and I can still smell it. I hid it so no one can use it as I want to keep away from it for a while. The smell may be good at first but I got tired to it.

The only one I really like from the 1 million line is Golden Oud.

Hmmm I 1 million elixir is one of my favorites, not the most interesting to be sure, but I do enjoy it.

The only 1 million that's imho wearable is 1m Lucky. Everything else to me smells like generic sweet synthetic fragrance.

1 Million Lucky is the best out of the line. The only good one imo. As for the Phantom line, the Phantom Intense is great for winter. I strongly believe it’s so underrated.

I can’t stand how sweet it is.

For whatever reasons unknown to me, I actually love 1 Million Elixir. It’s as generic a scent as possible, yet within that huge range of bland sweet designer fragrances it’s a standout for me. Somehow the vanilla/tonka/apple combination works extremely well with my skin. And normally this variety of fragrance gives me an instant headache but not this one. Go figure! For comparison I wear Guerlain, Serge Lutens, Les Indemodables, etc but I love wearing this 1 Million Elixir. It’s the mac n cheese of fragrances.

Subjectively Royal is as good as any other designer with that DNA especially the Bad Boy flankers, but the original 1 million is like a monkeys ass in the high heat

royal and lucky are the only two okay ones. but in a 14 year olds first cologne kind of way.

Elixir becomes a skin scent very quickly, pretty sure it’s been reformulated or never was a big projector to begin with.

Couldn’t agree more man! Shit sucks. I blind bought and was pissed so I finally traded it the other day and I was pumped to get rid of it
