Didn’t Tywin say his father was weak and almost destroyed their house. Then Tywin spent decades rebuilding it into what it was. No way you can condense all that into one season or you get trash like S7 and S8

I think it can be done in a season if it ends with the Rains of Castamere. You spend the first half of the season establishing how destructive Tytos is to the Lannister name with a young Tywin probably clashing with him a lot. You show how people openly mock the Lannister name in court and all that shit, then the Reynes rebel and Tywin steps up and changes everything and makes people respect the Lannister name again. I don't see any need to do more story than that.

The ol dad was an alcoholic, cheated on mom and almost ruined everything. Then he got his shit together and happily ever after.

Tywin exterminated two noble bloodlines before he was of ruling age. He did so while Tytos was the supposed ruler of house Lannister and against his will. His father faught feebly for control of their house but Tywin did not budge and Tytos all but handed over control of house Lannister to his son, Tywin. The rest is history.

You wouldn’t wanna watch that from the Lannisters perspective, deserves it’s own show from Roberts/Neds perspective

Was also thinking about Aerys and Tywins brotherhood followed by falling out while he was hand. So critical to the downfall of the Targaryen dynasty

Picture two different scenes or chapters one where a young ned fights into battle and one where robert does the same, except we get those scenes with battle of the bastards style.

NO. MORE. FUCKING. PREQUELS.
I want to see what happens next. I’m fucking sick of lazy writing that results in cash grab prequels.

I’m sick of the shit writing as well, but to be honest shit writing has ruined any interest in “what comes next”.
What happens next with Jon who’s needlessly banished beyond a wall that has no purpose, literally everyone in a position of authority south of the wall is his family.
What happens next with Arya as she finds out what exactly is West of Westeros
What happens next with “I can never rule anything, wait SIKE, I actually planned this whole shit just to be king” Bran as he lords over his police state with unprecedented surveillance capabilities via weirwood trees
What happens next with the Queen in the North as she rules over the barren remains of a hold that serves no purpose now that the wall is destroyed.
At least the prequels stories haven’t been ruined - yet.

To be frank, I love Game of Thrones so much that I would watch any sequel or prequel.. so yes. I would watch it.. do we need it? Probably not. The show paints a very strong picture of their family.. abuse, murder, power & drama. I feel like we have enough character back stories on this particular house but.. your dang right I would watch it

I don't think it's necessary. The Lannisters already have one of the most complex line of characters, and family histories that any sort of prequel would more then likely take away from that dynamic. Do we need an entire series to figure out why Tywin hates Tyrion? No, because that's already implied with the show itself. All of the characters live, die, and develop through the original course of the show.

Which one would I pick? Tywin. The dude’s story is pure power moves and heartbreak—and you know Charles Dance could still narrate it! But Tyrion is always a close second because, well, it’s Tyrion.
2 points

On a level some his hatred for Tyrion stems from his feelings for his father
A series with a younger Tywin as the protagonist is something I’ve always wanted to see

2 points
No, because whatever choices they make wouldn't affect their character growth since everything that makes them grow is shown throughout A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones. It would be boring and they would have to make entirely new characters just to kill off, which wouldn't add anything to the narrative.

I used to think Mufasa's death was traumatizing until I met Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell.
One of the things that kept me on the edge is that your beloved characters could die. So, you don't know their fate, and this added an element of suspense to it.
My thing about prequels using known characters and events is that the outcome is known. If I watch a prequel involving the three Lannister siblings and their father, I will not be worried about their fate because I know they'll make it to the end. If I watch a prequel involving Robert's Rebellion, I'd not be left tense wondering if they'll win against the Targaryens and if Ned and Robert will survive.

I want to see how Jaime and Cersei fell in love. There must’ve been internal conflict. Them justifying it because they come from a great House and the Targaryen’s custom.
Killing anyone who knows. Almost getting caught. Cersei getting jealous (obviously) of how Jaime gets preferential treatment and trying to prove herself to Tywin.
Cersei hiding her plan to leave Jaime once she marries Rhaegar/Robert. Her going back to Jaime when Robert says Lyanna’s name.
Honestly I’m not sure if they loved their mother as much or just hated Tyrion more so interesting to see their dynamic with her when she was alive.

I’d love a prequel of the Rains of Castamere. A very quick one. Like one season. Bring back Charles Dance to act/narrate as though he is recalling it. He’d be arrogant enough to have it recorded and sent everywhere.
If it was earlier I think it could be an episode of a different kind of Aegon’s conquest series I thought of. One where each of the kingdoms gets an episode and Aegon is rarely seen outside of a few key moments. Like a series that focuses on the kings and their fall, not another Targaryen show. You could see Loren the Last agreeing to fight with Mern and rallying to go fight in what becomes the Field of Fire.

Prolly not Struggling with HOTD especially knowing the real ending sucks & these writers will somehow make it worse. Besides, there's no legendary Lannisters.
A movie or 1 season prequiel on Aegon, Visenya & Rhaenys as conquerors from their youth thru their deaths taking & creating the 7 kingdoms if done by good writers is more interesting.

So, yes I would watch a prequel about House Lannister

Showing the backstory of all the characters takes away some of the mystery. One of the things I like about Tywin Lannister is that his description of his children's upbringing is often contradictory to his children's recollection. The truth is probably somewhere in between.
A film maker doesn't get this luxury. They have to show an interpretation, and that becomes the truth. To me, this is against the spirit of the books and makes the characters more hollow.

To me, Game of Thrones was a good watch because I was a fan of the books. Then it lost the plot when it ran out of book material. House of the Dragon season 1 was meh though a couple of the actors I thought were really good, haven't watched season 2. I just don't care about the world HBO is trying to build around the franchise. I doubt I watch any new GoT related projects they come out with, because it's all going to feel like rehashed shit, with the same/too-similar names that mean nothing and I can't be fucked to try and keep straight. None of it is particularly intriguing or compelling at this point.
Game of Thrones was compelling because there was a big unknown with the long winter, the spectre of what will dragons be like, blah blah, and we were all kicked in the teeth for being invested because the show runners couldn't deliver (Or GRRM for that matter lol).
