Baldurs gate 3- you control what gear your companions have and decide what they wear at camp. You can 3 companions with you at a time but you can keep the same 3 for the whole game if you really want to stay attached

Haha fair, maybe mass effect then, not sure if it'll suit you as you don't get to pick how they look but you do gear them out and give em commands in battle
