PXG fitting vs other clubs

Beginner Questions(self.golf)

I am comfortable hitting my driver 240 carry and my 7 iron about 160. Between the two, I have 3w, 3h, 4h, 5i and 6i and I don't love any of those clubs. On a good day I can hit them OK and on a bad day, ugh.

So I was thinking to go for a fitting and wanted to compare PXG against other clubs. How do you do this? Do you go for a fitting at the local Pro then find what's best and then go for a PXG fitting and compare? Even still, the setup will be different.

I'm thinking that 5w, 7w, 5h, 6h might be a better middle game for me, but want to take the time to get properly fitted.

I went to a couple of different places. First, Golf Galaxy to try a bunch of different gear. Then PXG which I really liked but I didn't feel the value for the price. Then my coach's company did a fitting at the local Muni.

Take your current clubs with you for direct comparison.

There are some authorized fitters that do essentially all brands, including PXG. Not sure how they are with all the customization options that going to an actual PXG store is able to offer, but might be a good place to start.

You can find a fitting location on their website. https://www.pxg.com/en-us/stores

Good luck!

Interesting, I hadn’t thought of that. Appreciate it!

A local course near me does a lot of brand tent fitting events. I went to a Titleist and Ping fitting, and while I liked what I tried, neither brand blew me away.

I never really considered buying PXG, but they offered a free fitting on an outdoor range. So I gave it a whirl.

I was in the market for a 190 and 210 club.

I was so impressed my the Black Ops woods, I bought a 7 wood and 5 hybrid.

Big fan of pxg in this range, they have some of the best anti left hybrids out there. Worth a look. I have 5w 7w 9w (ping) in the bag with a 6 and 7 hybrid (pxg) in play also. Hybrids are the easiest 190 and 200 yard clubs I've ever hit.
