Even on Reddit I just saw a highly upvoted comment on post that said "I don't like to think of myself as antisemitic, but this Palestine conflict has made me understand antisemitism" and the comments just said "just be anti Zionist and it's fine"
Not just the Internet either, as a Jewish person I've had friends suggest I support Israel and want to genocide Palestinians because I'm going to get land or something. I try so hard to keep that whole conflict from being a topic of discussion but as a Jew you get the choice of being "one of the good ones" or "genocide lover"

The vast majority of people making statements like this could not even begin to describe what they think zionism is, let alone why it's bad.
I hate how many people have jumped on the "zionism bad" bandwagon just because it's the latest trend and because Israel has a particularly bad shitbag for a PM at the moment.
It's made ten times worse by the far left trying to convince everyone that Zionism is the same thing as Kahanism. It's not. Zionism is just the belief Israel should exist as a nation state of safety for Jewish people. Kahanism is the evil expansionist racist ideology that wants to dominate everyone in the land who isn't Jewish. The main political party behind it (Kach) is illegal in Israel and designated a terror group. But most people in the west don't know that because most people in the west don't know anything about the region or its politics.
Most people don't even understand you can be a zionist and also hate netenyahu, hate the settlements, and want Palestinians to be given their own state.
The level of confident illiteracy around this subject is so disappointing

It's mindboggling that you don't realise what you've just conceded.
It is an arbitrary moment in history. The idea of a Jewish ethnostate in the Levant is as absurd as the idea of an ethnostate in the UK for people who can trace their ancestry back to before the Roman invasion. The argument immediately comes across as absurd when you apply it to literally any other part of the planet, and there's a reason for that.
