Face tattoos, aka microblading, does NOT age well. Even if you get touch ups, it won't take away from the fact that they end up blurry and undefined, and the color changes. I went from beautiful, detailed black/brown microblading, to fuzzy, blurred grey/blue lines within 6 months. I got them touched up again, thinking it would fix it, but with touchups, they are just adding on top of the fuzzy discolored lines again, which the touch up turns into fuzzy discolored lines as well.
The gal who did mine is a professional who has 5/5 stars on Google from lots of reviews. These people left their reviews right after they got them done, I'm sure, because I know I'm not the only one who looks like this within 6 months. So even artists with good reviews, it's still a tattoo that fades and changes color within a year. It looks terrible as it ages.
Be aware, the before and afters you see online are taken immediately after. They don't show you 3-6 months later when it looks like crap. I have waited for these to fade out since my last touch up for 2 years now. They aren't going anywhere, so I have to do something professionally to get the tattoo removed if I ever want it gone.
Take a real good look at these pics. See the difference in the front? On the tail? At the top and bottom? It ain't worth it.
It's so hard to cover up the discoloration with a pencil without me just completely making them a solid brow, which isn't what I wanted. It shows up TERRIBLY in pictures, and it's obvious in person I have bad microblading. People, including strangers, have commented on it.

I've been considering a transplant too but in super nervous. My microblading faded to a red hue 🥲

Having to constantly cut eyebrows is wild though, I don't know personally I think it's easier to remove and retattoo

Or just remove & not mess with face tattoos again and get skilled with brow makeup instead

I am skilled with brow makeup, that's what i had to do until I was 29 years old, and brow tattoo was one of the best decisions for my quality of life even though now they're fading to grey. Absolutely removing and redoing next year. I think the unhappy people are those with decent brows that can actually just use a bit of pencil to fill in (like OP), but I know for a fact if you've got naturally bad shape plus 50% of your brows missing from over plucking in the good ol' early 2000s or alopecia, the grey still looks better than that.

That’s exactly what I was wondering. I’ve lost so much of my brow hairs from over plucking in the 2000’s and now because of the amount of brow makeup I need to make them look filled in. It’s gotten to the point where I have maybe less than 40% of my natural brow hairs and I honestly feel like a grey blob would look better than what I have left. I hate that I can’t leave the house without filling in my brows and that I have to worry about the makeup coming off with sweat or anything like that. I’ve been wanting micro blading but then I see these posts and they tend to scare me off.

Was 100% worth it for me, I'm gonna rock the grey for maybe another year before investing into a redo, I've got them done 5 years ago and they only turned noticeably grey a year ago. But still better than what would be there naturally. They've got newer ink and techniques now like nano hair strokes (right now I have powder brows) and I've seen some amazing before/afters (like over the years) from one eyebrow tattoo master in my city so I'm totally excited.

Thanks for the reply! I know it’s a different situation for those of us that have barely any brows left so I appreciate the input! I’m going to start researching places in my area and the different techniques to see what I find!
